News/Article Bombshell lawsuit alleges that RAM manufacturers are colluding to drive up prices. Three companies that account for 90% of RAM revenue are being sued for anti-competitive practices. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron (the "DRAM Triarchy" controlling ~90-95% of the global DRAM market)

“Snitch”? Bruh, they’re the one doing us all a favour in that scenario

Sure. Daylight is a disinfectant for corruption - but never lose sight of the fact that a company has no human sense of right and wrong.

This is still a strategic play for advantage.

Did I say any of that? Whether it was merely stochastic alignment, or not - it was still a good thing for the public that they decided to snitch - regardless of the motives.

The motives must be regarded though. That’s why I brought my contribution forward.

Not all Reddit comments are a direct attack. Sometimes we’re just adding stuff to the stew.

My point was that labelling a whistleblower as a “snitch” is incredibly stupid. If someone wants to criticise them for taking part in the first place, then go ahead - call them out for unethical business practices. But labelling them as a snitch focuses on the complete wrong thing - and frames the situation in a way that singles them out as a particular bad actor within the group.

Most of these people were not alive during that time, remember you're on reddit.

No matter how users try to spin it, what Micron did back then was good for us and anyone into computers will forever remember them for it. I know that'll blow the mind of everyone on reddit who believes every business strictly operates by a standard business directive.

I understand the use of the word though. And it’s accurate. A snitch only tells for personal benefit. A whistleblower tells for civic good.

The society gets similar outcomes, but we have these 2 different labels for a reason.
