Let's see him do that with wild tires. It's too easy with tires in captivity

u/_Leafy_Pumpkin_ 2d ago
Dude would never catch a wild tire. Those muthas are hella fast, especially going downhill.

u/KEPD-350 1d ago
i downvoted u. stop condoning harassment of wild tires. thats fucking disgustin!! its 2026 and people like u need to still be reminded.
10
u/jdehjdeh 1d ago
It's important however that we don't encourage feeding of wild tires, it causes them to grow to be too trusting of human beings that may harm them.

Hundreds of tires I bagged and never attempted this…..I’ve thrown most of my life away….

Why does the tyre need to go in a bag in the first place - I mean it's a tyre?
368
u/mrcrumplebottom 2d ago
it needed attire
36
47
u/Glubins 2d ago
Stop it from getting things super dirty since it's a filthy tire you gotta load into your car to get home
-59
u/AshlynnCashlynn 2d ago
Is that it though? If its a filthy tire, chances are its going in the trash if you took it off. Noone takes off an already used tire to bag it up and take it home.
43
u/Glubins 2d ago
If you live anywhere that snows you do. Change to snow/ice rated tires for the winter, then back to regulars in the spring.
1
u/DOLCICUS 1d ago
Wait wouldn’t you still need to go into the shop to switch them out? I doubt people are wrenching them out at home. Or do people up north just keep a second set of rims hanging around?
Ah nvm i see other folks are kinda sorta answering it but damn that sounds super inconvenient.
2
u/Glubins 1d ago
I have a second set of rims for mine and my wife's cars which I swap. If you don't have a second set of rims then yeah you take it in to a shop to change them.
1
u/DOLCICUS 1d ago
When the roads in Texas ice over we all just stay home. Houston is practically shut down when that happens otherwise there’s collisions everywhere. So yeah tire swaps is just an alien experience for me.
-9
u/skyfishgoo 2d ago
don't most ppl just use a 2nd set of wheels for that?
8
u/syds 2d ago
and where do you put this separate wheel/tire combo?
-8
u/Jaambie 2d ago
In your garage, in your basement, or lots of places like Kal Tire offer storage for your second set.
4
8
u/syds 2d ago
you need to move it from place A to place B which usually requires transportation of a disgusting tire inside a pristine interior of a vehicle.
can I borrow your car?
-14
u/Lastminutebastrd 2d ago
Well, you just switch out the wheel/tire combo in your garage or driveway. No need to put them in the car.

u/Enginerdad 2d ago
Snow tire changeovers are very common for people who can't/don't want to change their own wheels twice a year.
1
u/JoeRogansNipple 2d ago
A good amount yes, otherwise its like $60/season change to get it swapped (varies greatly) so 120 a year. New rims start at like 100/yr for steels (suv size) so >4yrs to break even. Plus if you cant swap wheel sets yourself, you'll need the shop anyway, so why not just keep them separated?
I have 2 dedicated sets, mounted with tpms. Just easier for me.
1
u/skyfishgoo 2d ago
and don't some tire places offer to store the off season set for you so you don't have to take them home?
1
u/ChrisTheMan72 2d ago
Pretty sure you gotta pay for storage when a corner of your own garage is free
1
u/skyfishgoo 2d ago
seems like they should offer it for free because
a) they want you to come back and have them swapped in the spring
b) they want you to buy your next set of tires from them.
1
1
u/JoeRogansNipple 2d ago
Some places do yes, its not very common. Some will charge you $20 or something per season to store (so $40/yr)
0
u/r_a_d_ 2d ago
no, they don’t.
1
u/Jaambie 2d ago
Everyone I know has a set of winter tires on a second set of rims. It’s quicker, cheaper and easier to swap them.
2
u/ClankerCore 2d ago
It's more expensive at the front end to get the rims as well, which can be expensive depending on the kind of car that you drive
Peoples lives change
I don't wanna get into an argument about if you can afford the car you can afford the rims. It's not always the case.
2
u/Radiant_Honeydew1080 2d ago
Depends on what's more expensive in your country/region: products or services. If the services are cheap, you're likely to spend less on changing the tires for winter season than paying for a new set of wheels, especially if you have a fancy car with big wide rims. Also you pay upfront for a set of wheels instead of paying smaller amount on each tire change, which may not be ideal.
10
u/nibseh 2d ago
They do in winter climates when you switch tires seasonally between winter/summer tires

Have you literally ever owned a car before? Insane comment lmao.
1
u/AshlynnCashlynn 1d ago
I have lmao, but i live in the south. Changing tires for the season is just not something we do down here so i didnt know about it.
1
u/4r4r4real 1d ago
It's crazy to think they'd be garbage regardless lol. I've bought used tires for my beaters plenty of times.

Customers dont like getting the inside of their nasty cars dirty
54
u/Leut_Aldo_Raine 2d ago
My favorite is when I take my truck to the dealer for service. This truck is well-used and rarely cleaned. I laugh whenever the put one of those paper shoe protectors down over my filthy rubber floor mats.

u/Fortestingporpoises 2d ago
I own a dog company and I have the same reaction. Or when they try to offer me a lapmat at In N Out.
14
u/antiduh 2d ago
When I get my tires switched to my snows, the shop bags the summer tires and throws them in the trunk, back seat, and front seat. I drive home, unload to my garage, do it again 6 months later.
1
u/I0A0I 2d ago
Is your shop removing the tire from the wheel every six months? Was told by my previous shop that tires aren't designed for that kinda stress.
1
u/antiduh 1d ago
Yep, I wasn't smart enough to buy rims just for the winter tires, so I just mount-and-balance them every 6 months.
You'd probably pay 600-1000$ for a set of winter-only rims. Mount and balance for me costs 250$ each time, twice per year, so two years of mounting tires costs more than just the upfront cost of winter rims.
Once you have winter rims with permanently mounted winter tires, you'd could just mount them yourself for roughly free.
5
u/Alert_Lettuce_8278 1d ago
You can get steel rims way cheaper than that.
If you have a jack at home you can then just swap them yourself, save some money and hassle of going to/from the shop.
Or at least save money on the swap fee and wear it does to the tires
10
u/Sealbeater 2d ago
I know people already commented about bagging dirty seasonal tires but it also helps to keep seasonal tires bagged to prevent dry rot

Sometimes the customer wants to keep the tires for spares or because they are summer / winter tires and need to be swapped. Might bag them for other reasons, too.

Every time I try to bag something I need 5 tries, and this guy just throws the bag in the general direction of the tire and it wraps it perfectly... how???

What is this technique called?!?!
We need to do this to flock cameras. I’ve been looking for this gif in order to explain it. Can we use an air-zooka and some 8 mil black trash bags?

Watch the video unmuted.
Retract my upvote on the video.
Dude just post it without audio if it has this slop on it.

Many people in colder climates have summer and winter tires that they change out as the seasons dictate. The bags prevent brake dust from getting all over the car when they load them in for you to take home and store.

It's so wild to see a post loop back around within a couple hours but now someone at the bad music factory has added some bullshit music to it.
Like, someone really is out there with a hardwired connection from their butthole to their ear holes saying "yes. I know exactly what this needs."

u/White-armedAtmosi 1d ago
I am usually bag my tires at home faster than this, alone. You just need to put the bag on the tire from the top.
1
u/Borge_Luis_Jorges 2d ago
Well, you could lay the bag wide open on the ground and roll the tire over it, then pull up. Not that hard either.
1
u/bouillon 2d ago
So getting a plastic bag to lie completely flat without getting blown around while also rolling a tire over the opening is just as easy, yeah? Are you speaking from experience or your asshole?
1
u/Cpt-Alvarez 2d ago
That's witchcraft. Burn him! (/s - just in case)

u/Borge_Luis_Jorges 2d ago
/s as in "Sincere"? ... Hmm, such a superticious and murderous person. A shame, a shame...
