Reaching an estimated 6 million tons of microplastic pollution released each year. Tire-originated microplastics have been found in every location in the world, from the highest peaks of the Andes to the middle of Antarctica. EVs produce substantially more of the pollution than gas-powered cars, due to increased tire wear. The unique composition and tiny size of tire-derived microplastics are more harmful to soil health or water quality than other types of microplastics.
One more reason.....tires are the enemy.

After a touch from Camilo Trappa, Juan Manuel Casella crashed into the tire barrier in Race 1 of the TCR South America. A tire flew off and hit a fan who was grilling barbecue at the edge of the track.
