Sam LaPorta on not receiving an extension from the Lions: “I break my fucking back for this team. And then I’m going out there this year and I'm ballin, and maybe they're just not showing the love. In three months if I don’t get to play for the Lions anymore. I'll get paid elsewhere."

Rumor Report: Aikman-Buck relationship strained “for some time”

Thumbnail sportsmediawatch.com
• Upvotes

"In a piece published Wednesday, a source told Dylan Byers of Puck that Aikman had been “increasingly cold, difficult, short” and “making comments” in the weeks since learning that Buck had reached a new contract extension with ESPN. The source characterized the reported argument between Buck and Aikman — first publicized by Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports last week — as the result of Buck having “finally snapped.”

"According to Byers, Buck and his agent initially approached ESPN about an early negotiation in May and were informed as part of those talks that the company could move on from Aikman. That did not stop buck from “almost immediately” accepting the deal. Buck was reportedly told that Aikman could be replaced by Greg Olsen of Fox or by ESPN’s own Kirk Herbstreit, with Buck said to have been “most receptive” to Olsen."

"Per Byers, Buck apologized to Aikman and the entire “Monday Night Football” production team for last week’s argument ahead of this past week’s 49ers-Commanders game, but Aikman did not reciprocate"

The Vikings are blitzing 70.4% of the time through 6 weeks. That's more than double the league average of 31.7% (no other team is above 46%). They're also generating pressure 35.8% of the time (no other team is above 30%).

Last year, their blitz rate was 51.3% (#1), and they generated pressure 25.9% of the time (#4).

Is this blitz rate sustainable?
