Out of a million? Which loops back to the question.

Just one child being brutally tortured in the entire city of Omelas? A whole city! Why would they care about that?

Exactly. How many people died when you read this sentence? It's either the system is important to be 100% or accept that the system is flawed and cracks will always be there, thus worrying about that small percentage is a waste of resources. Looping back to "is it too small to care or is it too small to not care"?.

I think it's reasonable to question why the administration is targeting such a small population. If this is solely for cost cutting why select such a small minority to target when there are other ways to cut expenses that are not likely a violation of the law. I think it's important to defend the rights of these folks as we ought to strive to ensure we follow the law.

Sounds like something can be done if that question is found here. They can argue "Every bit counts" vs "Every bit counts".

I think you're deliberately missing the nuance of the discussion at hand. I think it's a reasonable question why did this administration target a small minority with policies which now obviously violate the law? The counter question why should we care about the rights of a small minority being violated seems like a questionable position to take.

Something about "omelets" would be said. Has anyone went and asked this or are the critics standing about, with their hands in the air?

Yeah? Why would you stop? If there was this much conviction the a lot of problems would be solved.

I mean I would, but I like discussing the topic at hand instead of whatever you're attempting to do. You've done so much vague posting im not completely sure what point you're actually trying to make.

Being able to make a point clearly is a sign of intelligence. One you lack.
