Post image

I have IBS and therefore have to severly limit my diet. Mind you half the stuff on this list is food I really enjoy eating, or is virtually included in everything 🙃 the universe said you WILL eat that boiled chicken and rice and you WILL LIKE IT

IBS is a default diagnosis when they couldn't find anything else. My son's gastro doc said people can be at risk simply from stress. Husband got diagnosed with IBS years ago - but doc told him he was allergic to these same exact foods (yes, allergic). Then years later, he got undiagnosed by a different doctor; they said he never had it.

I had 'ibs' that was triggered by 'anxiety' for 5+ years

It was celiac. It just took one doctor marking down a box on a blood test.

Is there a blood test now? I remember reading (years ago admittedly) that diagnosis of celiac involves gut scopes to really say yes / no.

I think there’s always been a blood test if you’re still eating gluten, but they’ve recently developed one for if you’ve already eliminated gluten and don’t want to make yourself sick again. I’m not celiac but I know some people who are that were excited about it.

I had the blood test to show I have it and the scope to confirm it.

Yes, there’s a celiac blood test.

I just looked this up and it doesn’t diagnose anything unfortunately, it’s a screening test and has to be confirmed with intenstinal biopsy it sounds like.
