I'm slightly vexed Taxi driver wearing noise cancelling headphones while driving in the city

Post image

Look I’m PMSing so I’m admittedly in a very nit picky time of my life. But. Don’t love weaving in and out of traffic in a major city while the taxi driver has noice cancelling headphones on. The sound is loud enough I can hear whatever (moderately funny) comedy show he’s listening to in the backseat. This is ill advised, yes?

ETA thanks to everyone who taught me about transparent mode today :)

ETA2 : Okay, I’m the asshole, comments have shown me there’s lots that could be going on with the driver to make him need to use these and there’s way he could do so safely. Mea culpa. That’ll teach me to knee jerk react.

But how do you tell when you have a red light?

And because this is reddit and I have to put it or I'll have people who don't understand I'm not being earnest, /s

Not going to lie, there was a fraction of a second where I thought this was serious, and it was very funny to me.

Deaf people don't really have a choice in the matter.

Being deaf is much different then actively listening to something that could distract your attention from operating the vehicle.

Is it though? I'm deaf but wasn't always deaf and this just makes absolutely 0 sense to me. You don't use your radio, or drive a loud car, or ride a motorcycle?

There are plenty of states with laws on the books that agree

Ah yes, because legal status is the ultimate test of logic and safety. I see the level of critical thinking I'm dealing with here, have a good day. 👍

Says the person who thinks their opinion on the matter should be what everyone else goes by

You mean all those screens in cars are not distracting?
