I'm slightly vexed Taxi driver wearing noise cancelling headphones while driving in the city

Post image

Look I’m PMSing so I’m admittedly in a very nit picky time of my life. But. Don’t love weaving in and out of traffic in a major city while the taxi driver has noice cancelling headphones on. The sound is loud enough I can hear whatever (moderately funny) comedy show he’s listening to in the backseat. This is ill advised, yes?

ETA thanks to everyone who taught me about transparent mode today :)

ETA2 : Okay, I’m the asshole, comments have shown me there’s lots that could be going on with the driver to make him need to use these and there’s way he could do so safely. Mea culpa. That’ll teach me to knee jerk react.

Is there evidence that deaf drivers are materially worse than those who can hear fine?

So many other reasons to criticise someone's driving. Not using their ears enough is right down the bottom for me.

Deaf drivers might drive more carefully in general.

People with hearing might drive worse when they block one of their senses. It can make a huge difference in specific situations that you don't know that you'll be in.

People get in bad situations just by blocking their hearing when they are walking.

Might? So you're just baselessly speculating? Let me try my hand at that. Deaf people might be worse drivers than average because of a human experience lived without sounds.

You would say that it's baselessly speculating if I said that people with blindfolds might be worse drivers.
