I'm slightly vexed Taxi driver wearing noise cancelling headphones while driving in the city

Post image

Look I’m PMSing so I’m admittedly in a very nit picky time of my life. But. Don’t love weaving in and out of traffic in a major city while the taxi driver has noice cancelling headphones on. The sound is loud enough I can hear whatever (moderately funny) comedy show he’s listening to in the backseat. This is ill advised, yes?

ETA thanks to everyone who taught me about transparent mode today :)

ETA2 : Okay, I’m the asshole, comments have shown me there’s lots that could be going on with the driver to make him need to use these and there’s way he could do so safely. Mea culpa. That’ll teach me to knee jerk react.

You do know that most of these headphones have feature called Listening mode or pass through where they can actually hear outside noise. I love how you assume he has the NC feature on. Although I would say it’s a bit rude to have the headphones on while rideshare driving but that is a different personality issue.

Sorry but did you read the post? OP said they can hear what he’s listening to bc the volume is loud af.

Yes I read the post and just because it’s loud doesn’t mean they can’t hear outside noise with the passive mode on. I use my AirPods exactly in the same way with passive mode on and I can hear things going on around me with no issue. Maybe you have never used this feature before?
