Meh just pull it out, whats the worst that can happen... it only has electricity once it completed a full circuit :)

*for legal reasons, this is humor

Something tells me you're definitely not an electrician

Im the fireman of the family, never messed with the electrical sockets but touched my palm on a frying pan and an iron as a kid! Also started many fires....

I was honestly starting to worry you were being serious about this... oops

Being serious... on reddit? Come on now

Hydro will zap through thin vinyl grips...especially 240 volt, which is what I suspect this is.

You'd be shocked to find out just how efficiently even household hydro can go through thin vinyl pliers...and non-safety shoes! And that's 240V plugs.

If your standing on a floor in anything other than approved safety shoes, your body is completing the circuit!

Please don't give people advice about dangerous things you don't know about. In an AC system, the neutral is bonded to earth. If you touch one live wire you will complete the circuit through earth (the floor) and you will get shocked.

And calling it "positive/negative" tells me you are not qualified to be giving electrical advice.

The floor acts as an electrical ground...electricity will travel through a human body to get to the floor. That's been adequately demonstrated through plenty of factory safety-training videos.

The ground?

A concrete floor will efficiently behave like an electrical ground.if you're standing on a floor or even thin office carpet in non-safety rated boots; well the hydro's not fussy about the conductive material. Copper wire, human body...works either way.

I can't be the only one confused here, right? Not by the electrical concepts, but the repeated use of "hydro" which means water, to refer to electricity??

Hydro-electricity...that's term that I grew up with, a large portion of electricity came from hydroelectric dams. I use the terminology without even thinking about it...my apologies.

I know. I'm on your side against this dense commenter above.

The PD between the prong and the ground is enough for electricity to travel. I hope you don't work with electricity for a job
