Tipping culture in the US is actually for every service rendered?

Tbf I hate tipping culture but I will say out of anyone I’ve tipped in my life, I’ve never had an issue tipping my tattoo artist. Dude is putting a lot of time and effort into something that’s going to be on my body for the rest of my life. I happily tipped my artist like 35$ to 50$ for a 300$ tattoo

But they could just ask for exactly how much they feel their time and energy was worth and solve this "problem" of hoping for a tip.

You’re assuming every artist is hoping for a tip. My guy made it very clear tips are not expected at all but very appreciated and I appreciate the work he does.

That's fine too. They would then have cheaper tattoos than everyone else. Also you can still tip whenever the fuck you want. People are complaining about the awkward semi mandatory tip from people. That wouldn't stop you from tipping whoever whatever you want.

If they're not expected, the price has been established, so don't tip.
