DISCUSSION Any Devs who could take over?

So the news is a huge kick in the balls. Is that truly it then or would there be any chance EA could sell the IP? Honestly coudnt see it going to CD Project or Bethesda. Dk if there's anyone else who could take over ot will EA just let the franchise rot out of spite?

It's not going anywhere.

But not out of spite, but because the IP has value. You don't sell off assets out of the kindness of your heart.

Itll just be salvaged for another battlefield event like 2042, they are already doing it with deadspace

it would be like selling the golden goose just because it stopped laying eggs, unless it’s a 9 figures at the very least the sale would be a loss compared what they could make with it in the future

The Saudis have a few coins to spare yet, i doubt they are worried even remotely close to degree they sell of valuable assets. This is more a case of Bioware dropping flop after flop for over a decade and them coming in as new owners seeing the writing on the wall and acting on it (which many assumed EA would have done themselves years ago, again having the Bioware brand was something they felt could add value to the potential purchase because to have been announced for THAT long and yet still in EARLY development means no one was actually seriously about making it a reality after Veilguard killed the studio stone dead)

Idk after the lackluster reception of andromeda, and the downright negative reception of dragon age vanguard, its very possible mass effect may either get shelved forever or sold off

I can't see it being sold off anytime soon.

Shelved forever? Maybe? More than likely sole other EA studio will take a crack at it eventually.
