Fuck. This sucks, but I can’t say I’m surprised. “Early development” on a game announced 8 years ago, that’s a pretty sure sign of things going catastrophically wrong.

And does this mean the KOTOR remake is gone? I hope not

Kotor remake will still go through (eventually) bc it was never Bioware who were developing it

Nah, even that studio, whoever it is, has been stuck in limbo for forever

That's not true. It moved to Saber Interactive who are currently pushing out other titles. KotOR is in their backlog and they've confirmed it's still alive and well like three times now.

It'll be a while before we see it though, for sure.

How many times has it changed studios now?

Twice. Saber is the second holder. Aspyr had it before but apparently something caused it to move hands

Right! Aspyr! Thats the one I couldnt recall.

They were the studio that handled the AI upscaled re-releases of Star Wars Bounty Hunter and the Battlefront Collection. I honestly just hope Saber does it justice and that we can get the KotOR remake in the future!

In what another 5 years?

Kotor was being handled by saber

LucasFilm chose NOT to give the game to Bioware probably for this very reason, because they knew it would never come out.

Dude the KOTOR remake has been dead for years and years. They started doing that all the way back in like 2012 and could never get it done

That was a project by a different studio. The current KOTOR remake is still going strong after a year or so of trouble back in 2022

kotor remake isn't bioware thankfully.

Thankfully Kotor is being handled by a based developer, Saber Interactive.
