Hi I am a yugioh player and my friends and I do a progression series every Sunday. This upcoming Sunday is our Halloween special (weāre all busy actual Halloween) and for our series weāre dressing it up as a commander game. I have played commander 1 time and I used a squirrel deck someone let me borrow and blew up the table. I am wondering what type of deck I should be looking at building. My friends decks are all precons with mana rocks and slight edits. My friend told me his deck:
āTo give you a better idea of where my paper deck is, I have a Cloud, ex-soldier equipment deck.
It has upgrades to better equipments, and uses the dwarves from the hobbit set which go well with equipmentsā
So I think this counts as bracket 2? Maybe 3? I was thinking of building a sliver deck focused around green and The First Sliver rather than building around overlord and queen to lower the power level. The reason for slivers was because when I first ever played magic my friendās dad used them to wipe the floor with me and I imprinted on them like a baby bird.
I also have heard that slivers are really unhealthy for commander because either you play the game and the table doesnāt or the table plays the game and you donāt. I wont have time to test/deck build much due to being full time employed and in college but are there other deck ideas I should look into? Are phoenixās fun?
Budget is not a problem we will be playing on table top simulator.
My favorite yugioh decks are:
Kashtira (got me into competitive)
Pendulum magician
Onomat
Dinomorphia
Yummy (specifically 60 card trif build)
So really Iām willing to play any sort of deck except a true control deck. The problem is I wonāt have time to lab out combos hence why I thought curve slivers might be a good idea
