Discussion Props to Chayka for signing these 4 guys in the span of 2 hours

Sissons, Blueger, Duhaime were signed at around 2PM on July 1st and the Paul trade came 2 hours later
I’m not saying it’s insane that we got 4 bottom 6 players in 2 hours, but the impact they have on our PK is insane to the point where I’m not even worried when we draw a penalty.
I remember people getting mad at Chayka for the contracts of some of these guys, especially Sissons and it looked like panic signings. Honestly with the cap going up, WHO CARES!
We leave the scoring up to the top 6 guys (Matthews, Nylander, Cowan, Marchenko, Roslovic, Tavares when he returns) and the defence to these guys and even guys like Mckenna (who probably stays on the 3rd line) have good offensive game, EVEN PAUL.
Paul, Duhaime, Blueger, Sissons, love you all bro 👍

Absolute horse out there the past few games. Brings the passion and energy, without him im not sure where we'd be. Morgan Reilly has also been solid lately. Proud to have him as a Maple Leaf, solid 6-7 guy stepping up to the task.

I first noticed this on McKenna's first NHL goal, but I've also seen Matthews do it on his way down the fist-bump line at the bench. Some sort of new tradition this year? Almost feels like the sort of thing you see from baseball teams every time somebody gets a base hit.
