Big dummy. I hope hes ok and I am genuinely glad to see the absolute love his handler has for him when he gets down to him. He shpuld be retired from service to live a happy and calm life with that officer.

I wonder if he will ever be able to run the same. Probably won’t jump anything anymore at least, I’d be shocked if he was able to return to service

Probably not. Hes going to be retired but its weird because they aren't immediately retired to their current handlers, which is weird.

Probably won’t jump again? I’ve watched a friends dog that got a face full of quills from a porcupine, want to go after another porcupine once it healed… I’ve watched a family member’s dog have the worst diarrhea and vomiting after eating an entire bag of peanut butter pill pockets (with no pills) and avoid them like the plague after…. For about 8 weeks….

Hah, dogs can vary. My parents dog got hit paw run over after running over to my brother’s dirt bike before, wasn’t broken or anything just bruised and sore, now he hides when he sees the bike come out at all. My childhood dog would probably be like your family’s dog though!

Most likely be fine. When I worked at a vet clinic we had to amputate the front leg off a young lab who got caught in a mower blade.

Two months later at a recheck he could run as fast as he did with 4 legs and catch balls out of the air mid leap. Dogs tend to heal better than people.
