r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

UPDATE — August 13, 2026

rgl.deals has grown a bit since I originally posted, so I wanted to give this post a update while it's still in BETA.

The idea is still simple: instead of showing you hundreds of gaming laptops, RGL keeps a smaller shortlist of deals that are actually worth considering.

Every listing is manually checked, with things like price, specs, cooling, display quality, GPU power limits, memory, storage, and overall value taken into account.

A lot of care has also gone into the smaller details. The site is heavily optimized for phones and smaller screens, not just desktop. Filters, comparisons, laptop pages, navigation, and general usability were all designed to work properly on mobile without feeling like a cut-down version of the site.

What's on the site now:

  • Curated gaming laptop deals with current and previous prices.
  • Filters for price, GPU, CPU, VRAM, RAM, screen size, brand, retailer, and more.
  • Gravity Sort, RGL's default value-based ranking.
  • Sorting by price, discount, savings, and other options.
  • Find a Match for narrowing down laptops based on what actually matters to you.
  • Side-by-side comparison for up to three laptops.
  • Detailed laptop pages with specs, price history, related models, retailer links, and review links.
  • Shareable searches, comparisons, and direct laptop links.
  • Mobile-first layouts and controls designed specifically for smaller screens.
  • No advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Preferences and saved comparisons stay in your browser.

RGL is meant to be a shortlist, not a giant catalog. If a laptop isn't worth recommending, it doesn't need to be there and that means no huge lists its quality over quantity.

The longer-term plan is also bigger than just deals. RGL is being built into a broader gaming laptop specific place with guides, buying information, laptop data, reviews, and other useful resources all in one place.

Full transparency: Some retailer links are affiliate links. That doesn't affect the listed price or determine which laptops make the shortlist.

RGL currently covers U.S. deals only, with more regions planned later.

It's still beta, so there will be bugs and things that need improving. If you find something broken or have feedback, leave it below any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

If you are asking for buying advice:

  1. Copy the template below.
  2. Create a new post and select the Recommendation flair.
  3. Paste the template into your post body and fill out your details right after each colon (:).
Budget:
Country:
Use Case: (Games you play, school, 3D modeling, video editing, etc.)
Preferred Specs / Form Factor: (Screen size, battery life, weight, GPU/CPU targets, etc.)
Portability Needs: (Desk queen or carried in a backpack daily?)

Choosing the Right Flair

Pick the flair that best describes your post so other members can find and answer it:

  • Support: Technical issues, crashes, hardware defects, driver bugs, high temperatures, or repair questions. Always include your laptop model, basic specs, and what you have already tried to fix it.
  • Recommendation: Buying advice and comparison posts. Must include your budget and country.
  • Deal: Active sales, price cuts, and retailer discounts. Put the price, laptop model, and currency directly in your post title.
  • Showcase: Photos of your new laptop, desk setup, unboxing, or upgrades. Keep titles clear and avoid all-caps titles.
  • Benchmark: Performance tests, Cinebench / 3DMark scores, thermal results, and in-game FPS benchmarks. Always list your laptop's full specs in the post or comments.
  • Review: In-depth written or video impressions, long-term ownership reviews, and teardowns.
  • Accessories: Cooling pads, docks, chargers, external monitors, mice, keyboards, and laptop bags.
  • Discussion: General laptop news, architecture announcements, hardware debates, and general questions that do not fit other flairs.
  • Meme: Gaming laptop memes and humor.

Deal How’d I do? MSI Vector 16 HX 5080.

Post image
13 Upvotes

Just purchased an MSI Vector 16 HX for $1,800 from Micro Center open box.

CPU: Intel Ultra 9 275HX GPU: RTX 5080 RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 SSD: 1TB

Saw the laptop online for $1980, drove about 1.5 hours to the store to pick it up. Thought it was already a decent deal considering it has a 5080. When the worker opened the box I saw that there was a dent in the MSI logo on the top of the laptop. Turned it on and checked everything out, all looked perfect.

Was able to negotiate them down to $1,800 even.

Is this a decent price for this machine? I already have a 2tb ssd that I can put into this, so the storage didn’t bother me. I will probably have to upgrade the ram at some point. But I feel pretty happy with my purchase. It’s nice to know that this laptop delivers the full 175W to the graphics card too. What do you guys think? Wish it had an OLED, but I still think the screen looks good.

Discussion Must be nice having access to good gaming device

I love playing games since i was so young, i think i get it from watching my dad play old games like ww2 cod and underground. Recently been playing ror2, songs of syx and some other random light games i could find while trying to survive college with my 500$ laptop (this is the best laptop i got ever but im grateful).

I know im taking things for granted and im really grateful with what j have but damn it must be nice to have an at least decent laptop to game on. It looks so fun watching games i know i'd love on yt but never have the chance to play myself. Im not really from a well off family and counting big economic disasters on my coubtry and pc parts being as expensive as it is now, im not close to upgrading my laptop.

Never posted on reddit before but man recently i been laying down imagining how good it would feel if my laptop can play whatever games i want. Cant wait to have my own decent laptop.

5 yrs old Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH05 (2021) getting alot of bdos of it in-game, idle, and even when starting up (the bsod is mostly what's shown at the vid), rare times I startup my laptop after like 4-5 crashes

I been using it for work this year, and mostly play games like RimWorld and Project Zomboid (both modded), it's getting annoying cause it crashes and in rare cases corrupts my safe file

It's been like this from like 2 years but got really worst this year, Me and my college friend did try to fix this, but we concluded that it's a hardware or motherboard issue, since it's all upgraded to the max (crucial ssd and lexar ddr4 ram) all the components is new and passed the stress test

We upgraded it to win11 From 1tb hdd (and 128 ssd) to SSD 1tb Crucial P3 RAM is 16gb (2x8) Kingston to Lexar ddr4 32gb (2x16) The maxed out I can get to my laptop

Good news is am saving up a work PC and ill hopefully build it at December, so I just need to deal with it till i get the new pc

Now I did flair this post to Discussion and not Support since am not really gonna look for help to how I can repair this laptop, more so Ill probably gonna get this repair AFTER i got my pc cause I do plan to use this still or ill probably let my sis use this for her coding

But what do you think? Should I just sell the parts and sell it as a donor board?

Or ill keep it and repair it to a repair guy bringing it back like it's good as new?

Here's the Specs: Ryzen 7 4800h Gtx 1650 (4gb vram) 32gb ddr4 3200mhz ram (lexar) 1tb (crucial p3) 120hz screen

Recommendation Found this laptop on marketplace

Budget: $650 (I can stretch to $750 if it’s worth it)

Country: USA

Use Case: Gaming

Preferred Specs: NVIDIA RTX 4070 or similar, Intel Core i7 or equivalent, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD

Notes: I’m looking for a gaming laptop that offers good performance for the price. I’m not very knowledgeable about PC hardware, so I’d appreciate advice on gaming performance, cooling, build quality, and long-term reliability.

I came across a 2023 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 with an Intel Core i7-13620H, RTX 4070, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD on Facebook Marketplace ($750) I’d like to know whether this model is worth considering and what I should check before buying a used gaming laptop.

I know I probably won't be able to find a brand-new laptop with the specs I mentioned within my $600–$750 budget, which is why I'm looking at used options. However, if I decide to buy a brand-new laptop instead, what would be the best specs and gaming performance I could get within my budget?

Am trying to avoid warranty cause it’s a hassle for this brand but if it’s a severe issue I have to address it

Recommendation need help on finding a good gaming laptop that runs modded mc !! (and preferably other steam games if I can) ^_^

• Upvotes

budget: $600-$800 or even a tad bit higher like $1k🥹
country: us!
usage: general gaming! Honestly wanna play modded mc like said in the title specifically those cute little custom mods that hopefully don’t require too high of a price to play:)). I also would like to use it for school and drawing too! If that’s too much it’s also okay if it’s just for mc + school work.
portability: definitely staying in my desk. But then again if it’s cheaper and better to have it portable too then I won’t mind at all!
additional info: if possible I’d also like to buy them secondhand. I don’t mind if they’re used just as long as I can do my games + work smoothly that’s just good w me!! Also I do apologize but I know absolutely nothing about laptops I fear other than memory, & ram 🥲. If anyone is willing to help w any information too pls do tell me about certain things I need to know! Much appreciated <33

Support GUIDE ABOUT THERMAL Paste,Help me!!

So.. it's been a year since I bought my laptop and I replaced my keyboard through adp and gave it to the service center for vents cleaning

Now I'm really worried because there's soo much difference in temperatures and I WANTED TO know what is their process of cleaning the laptop and keyboard replacement too, cuz I'm getting A constant 86°C GPU and 96°C Cpu just by playing Marvels rivals that too in medium settings, I used to get 78°-81°C which is normal for that settings, And in AC Brotherhood (144 fps)despite that old game I'm literally getting same temperatures.

How do I check thermal paste, Tell me guys if you know what the cause of this is cuz I'm really getting worried about this, The pic is the laptop temperature with no apps in the background

Discussion Should i spend extra 600+$ to get a lenovo legion 5/7 over an acer predator helios neo 16 ?

A refurbished acer with 5070 ti and 275hx costs about 1.6k, lenovo legion with the same specs is atleast 600$ more expensive, is it worth it tho ? Is there really a huge reliability/build quality difference? Buying them refurbished or open box from ebay, i will use them for both gaming and uni (electrical engineering), dont really care about the weight and thickness

Recommendation Dad gamer on a budget

Budget: $2000 CAD (not firm, but cheaper is definitely better)
Country: Canada
Use Case: World of Warcraft with occasional recording/streaming using OBS.
Preferred Specs / Form Factor: 14-16" (sweet spot is probably 15"), longer battery life is obviously nice but lower priority, minimum/recommended specs in attached photo.
Portability Needs: My current rig is a 14" MacBook Pro M1. This is barely sufficient for streaming WoW: Classic but is not going to cut it for the new WoW: Forever (releasing Nov 4). I like Apple's clean design but recognize I will likely be limited to Windows options given budget, use case and spec requirements. I would still prefer a flush, minimalist hinge design — where the bottom of the screen sits right at the back edge of the laptop — and also hoping to avoid any garish gamer-y visuals/design elements.

Noob questions: Unsure if 16 GB RAM is actually sufficient to stream/record gameplay given that is the recommended specification for the game itself? I only really play the one game, so thinking I can get away with 512 GB SSD? Most reviews focus mainly on other titles - how much benefit would I actually see from, say a 50-series vs. a 40-series or a 5050 vs. a 5060+, specifically in World of Warcraft.
