I got TUF A15 R7 7435hs, 4050.

Idle CPU temps are around 65°C, while max goes up to 91°C.

Since it has been 3 years of constant use, I was thinking of changing/servicing the old thermal paste.

Ik people here suggest getting the PTM7950, but I'm skeptical of the current seller on Amazon.

Also, is there any cheaper alternative available?

I mostly play Valorant and rarely any AAA games (almost never).

So, is MX-4 suffice for my use case?

One more thing, I might not be able to get thermal putty along with the PTM, as getting them together will be out of my budget.

My wife dropped her cup full of water....Stanley cup with Ice and water all into the keyboard. I picket up the laptop and flung it upside down and did a hard shut off.

I tried turning it on after 3 hours. No sign of life...

The power indicator for the battery is not coming on either when plugging in.

Is there a fail safe that will resolve? Or is it shot...?

It's resting on my kitchdn table. Paper towels on the keys and the screen if off the edge open.

My asus tuf f15 gpu fan(left side when seen from the back of laptop) is not working properly, when the laptop starts it runs for a minute and then makes a very loud noise as if something is stopping it from rotating and then eventually stops. But it keeps on trying to run and make noise but unable to run and stops and then tries to run again this cycle goes on.

Issue appeared first last night. Today i opened it and saw there was dust and cleaned everything, still it is making same noise as if dust was never the issue.

Finally bought a gaming laptop Asus tuf gaming a16. cost arround $1450. Specs are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GGDR7

RAM: 16GB DDR5

STORAGE: 1 TB

I plan mainly to play Poe (heavy CPU focused) for long duration. Today while playing CPU temperature reached 93-95 and droped to 80's. Today after much search I set balanced mode on g helper and disabled CPU boost and temperature droped of CPU to 73 while GPU Was at 63 degree Celsius. I have cheap cooler think that doesn't work atm. Planning to get cheap copy of Llano (zebronics 9200)

how do you guys have settings for long duration of gaming?

I recently picked up a second-hand laptop — an ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (FX506LI). I checked everything over and it's in good shape except for the battery.

Battery health is sitting at only 58.7% and it drains really quickly. I'm a university student, so I need it to last as long as possible between charges.

I've already made a few changes to improve battery life, but I'd love your suggestions on what else I can do.

Changes I've made so far:

1. Enabled ASUS Battery Health Charging — set to Balanced Mode (limits charging to 80%)

2. Switched power profiles in Armoury Crate — using Silent / Windows Balanced mode

3. Adjusted Windows Power Mode — set to Best Power Efficiency

4. Optimized screen and keyboard lighting:

   · Lowered screen brightness

   · Set screen to turn off after 3 minutes of inactivity

   · Turned off the keyboard RGB backlight

Any tips on settings, apps, or habits that could help me squeeze more out of this battery? Also, is it worth replacing the battery at this health level, or should I just manage it as-is?

Symptoms
The keyboard connects and disconnects even while physically attached, with repeated Windows connect/disconnect sounds.
It freezes at times, and the touchpad freezes with it.
If you're in the Citrix VM and remove the keyboard, the laptop crashes and restarts.
Sometimes it restarts on its own after the keyboard connects and disconnects several times in a row.
What we know
BIOS 312 is the latest on ASUS's site, and MyASUS says everything is up to date.
Bluetooth showed a "Driver error" on the keyboard. After you removed it, it kept appearing and disappearing under "Other devices."
Device Manager has many ghost HID, keyboard and USB entries, which is typical of repeated reconnects.
The keyboard has a red battery light and doesn't report a battery percentage to Windows.

I've got a B550 Plus WiFi motherboard and the Asus Driver Hub tells me I need a Chipset Driver update. It fails. AI helped me remove all pertinent driver files and then retry but it's still a failure. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks!

From the past couple days I've been using it on eco mode but today when I finally changed its performance mode to standard , the dgpu seems like it's completely off now. Need some advice.... 😩

SO today , suddenly my laptop restarted out of nowhere. I always used my laptop with an external LG monitor like a desktop setup. After the restart, my monitor was unusable. i literally didnt change anything . AMD RADEON INTEGRATED GRAPHICS(ERROR 43) was STOPPED DUE TO WHICH I CANT CAST MY DISPLAY to monitor. Now the pc is running on MICROSOFT BASIC DISPLAY due to which even the screenshot is blurred. URGENT HELP !!!

Hi, I didn't drop my laptop or anything and I'm not quite sure how this key got loose but I need it FIXEDDDDD.. it makes it a bit harder to type because depending on the angle the key itself is left at sometimes it doesnt touch the trigger in the middle which causes a semi frequent lack of response from my backspace key. i figure its something to do with some hinges not connecting properly but whenever i take it out to push the pins pack in place it sounds like they all should be connecting- its just that the bottom part kind of collapses more than it should into that key space.

if someone knows how i can repair this myself please lmk!!

ASUS TUF GAMING F15

So i just finished playimg smr and i want a game to play and sink time into. Im a story guy. And i like being sucked into the world of the game yk. My laptop is the asus tuf f16 2025 5060 i7 14650hx

My ASUS TUF F16 with an RTX 5050 has been experiencing inconsistent fan behaviour. The issue occurs randomly, usually after booting up, when the CPU fan starts spinning significantly faster than the GPU fan. Even in Silent mode, the CPU fan sometimes runs at over 6,000 RPM while the laptop is idle.

The behaviour is intermittent. After some time, the fan speed returns to normal, only for the issue to reappear later. I have also noticed that Armoury Crate reports incorrect fan speeds during these episodes. It shows the CPU fan running at around 2,400 RPM and the GPU fan at 0 RPM, despite the CPU fan audibly spinning at a much higher speed. When the fans return to normal operation, the GPU fan's RPM reading becomes visible again.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Could this be a BIOS, Armoury Crate, or fan controller problem? What troubleshooting steps would you recommend, and should I be concerned about a possible hardware fault?

Hello,I currently wanna buy an asus tuf f15-16( with rtx 3050 or more)And every single model with rtx 4050 is unavaible.Did they discontinue the 4050 series gpu?Is rtx 3050 more profitable for them so they quit making those?
