Hello, I need to find my CMOS battery on my laptop but I can't find it. Laptop model: satellite-l55d-b5238

I've been getting these lines of varying size at the bottom of my screen every time I boot up my GS76 Stealth. I noticed a weird way to fix it temporarily is if I put the laptop on sleep mode for about 2:30 minutes the lines will disappear completely or only a few will remain until the next time I boot it up. Any idea what could be causing it? Added photos right after boot up and then after sleep mode

Without having to spring for a Titan, lol. Like maybe a Raider, Vector, even Crosshair. I want an 18" screen, but would settle for 16" if I have to.

Currently I'm still on my GE75 Raider. Broke one hinge a while back, but otherwise it's still ok.

So i have the msi stealth 16studio a13vg and am replacing the heatsink because one of my fans started making a horrible noise. I cant find the the thickness of the thermal pads that I need. Has anyone replaced them on theirs and knows?

Few days ago i was watching a movie in bed with my laptop and fell asleep. Next morning I found out my laptop fell off my bed into this thin hole making it fall perfectly straight onto the laptop screen hinge sides.

Now I can't get my screen on in my pc. I tried connecting a 2s monitor and it works. It keeps sending me to the bios tho but I sort of fixed that i just kept pressing f11 and then I can go to windows.

But for some reason I just can't find the issue on why my screen won't turn on cuz I can't find any damage anywhere?

There is no damage to my laptop on the outside and I also opened up the laptop to check if the eDP-cable was properly in the laptop and it was. So I can't find the issue anywhere I was thinking of sending it to a repair shop but I was wondering what all your thoughts were?

(Also when I'm attaching my a monitor with hdmi it only detects 1 screen and that's the one with hdmi)

I made M-Tool, a small open-source tray app for MSI laptops, fan curves, Cooler Boost, performance mode, charge limit and keyboard backlight. It works with only one exe and no background service.

Right now it only changes settings on my own P65 Creator 9SE, since that's the only laptop I could test every write on. On other models it only reads. I understand the concerns of users about writing to EC and I have developed the app accordingly with safety procedures. I am developing M-Tool for around 1 month.

I need help from newer MSI owners (11th gen+). These use an interface called WMI2, and I don't have one to test on. If you do, it takes a minute:

1. Download M-Tool.exe from the latest release and run it (needs .NET 10 Desktop Runtime and admin).
2. Click Send EC data in the window that opens, and say Yes.
3. Check what will be sent, then click Send.

Nothing is written to your laptop, and no serial number or user name is sent. If you have HWiNFO open, comment your CPU temp and fan speed so I can compare.

I don't know where to get one, so any help would be greatly appreciated! A pocket to put the charger in would be a good addition too, but not necessary!

Hey all, I have an MSI vector with the 5080, about two months ago i added an extra 1tb to the gen 5 slot and upgraded to 64gb of ram and did a 40mV undervolt for my cpu and everything was running great for about a month. Then a few weeks ago I opened steam and everything game I tried through steam turned my cpu into a stuttering mess of black screens like opening the game was a malware. Once I force closed the game the whole pc starts running great again. This does not happen when I play league as it runs thru a different client so it is only an issue with steam or maybe between the handoff of steam and windows idk. I first thought it was an issue with fullscreen or refresh rate but I have ruled out refresh being the issue. I have tried just about every hotfix that Ai or forums have suggested. I just want to play some CSGO again with the boys :( Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

i bought it 2nd hand and the gpu fan is still hitting 6000rpm but i think the cpu one is replaced as its only hitting 4400s

can anyone also tell me the exact fan model?

where can i find the original fans?

Just got my MSI Crosshair 16 HX i dont know anything about latops was this a good choice guys

**Specs:**

* **Model:** MSI Thin A15

* **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS

* **GPU:** NVIDIA RTX 4050 Laptop GPU

* Especially while playing games, even though the temperatures are at normal levels, the fans suddenly lock to 100% speed and my FPS drops severely.

* This issue does not fix itself until I restart the laptop. Once I restart and re-enter the game, it happens again.

* I sent the laptop to official warranty service, but they irrelevantly just replaced the SSD and sent it back, which did not fix the problem.

* If I manually enable Cooler Boost (Fan Boost), this issue never happens. However, I shouldn't have to turn on Cooler Boost every single time and listen to that awful fan noise.

* Updating the AMD Chipset driver previously fixed the issue, but now the problem has returned again.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

I ask this because I have a strange issue when I extend the power limits on my Vector A18 9955HX 5070ti.
Firstly it caps at 160w, this doesn't bother me in all honesty, +20w is still great.
All visible temps are also great as I have thermal putty and liquid metal on the dies as well as it being sat on a BS2 Pro while I'm checking stuff over.

The issue itself is that it will run perfectly fine for about 20-30mins while I test stuff out and check OC and UV to keep it all in check, but then it starts sort of hanging, the driver seems to try and reset randomly if I try any kind of OC. It'll behave normally again for a while after I restart the laptop.

I'm just unsure as to what the deal is with the odd behaviour?

Yes, I know I do this at my own risk and such, hence thermal overhauls and a high end cooler.

what's the best way to remove the big a*s vector sticker? i'm getting the laptop tomorrow and i wanna remove it before it makes the area under it a different shade of black. it's also ruining the whole asthetic of the laptop idk why they even do this

I had finally purchased a Vector 16 HX with 5080, and the GPU had a complete failure not even four days in. Whole computer randomly crashed and restarted, after which it was running on integrated graphics. Device manager gave an error that the GPU was not physically connected to the system (hardware reset did not restore the GPU) My RMA arrived at the facility in Cali this morning, and I had expected the usual "one or two weeks" average I'd read about from others' RMA experiences. I checked my status just now and am reading this:

Is this normal...? Also yes I did write, in detail, the GPU issue in the RMA report sent with the laptop.

Picked up an MSI Raider 16 HX AI and I'm trying to figure out how uncommon this config actually is.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080 Laptop
RAM: 32GB
Storage: 1TB SSD
From what I've seen, most Raiders with a 5080 ship with more RAM and storage, or they come with an AMD processor instead. I haven't come across many with the Intel Ultra 9 paired with a 5080 and this lower RAM/storage setup.
So I'm curious: is this a rare find, or is it more common than I think? Has anyone else seen or owned this exact configuration? Also wondering if it's worth upgrading the RAM and SSD down the line or if 32GB/1TB is enough for most people.

So I know that under several sets of circumstances that a laptop can lock out the power button preventing a restart. I also know that doing the EC reset is pretty damn simple. What I also find pretty simple is the guy I just spoke to with MSI customer support. After telling him that this laptop has ran beautifully every time its been used, maybe once or twice a month. It ran BG3 just fine on low settings.. My girl used it all tax season and it never so much as hiccuped. And I'm not hard on my computers, they're one of the things I love most. I neglect a lot of things, my computers are not one of them. So after telling this guy four separate times that the laptop IS NOT FREAKING PLUGGED IN. He decides to inform me that if its plugged in it'll act like the battery isn't there... Yeah, I know dude I was using that diagnostic trick twenty years ago lets get on with it.. But because I've "already done the ec reset there isn't anything else I can do". I have never, in my life had a desktop, laptop, a table top just up and randomly decide to quit life.. There is always a symptom, always a warning sign and this thing ran great so I have a hard time believe it just randomly died. How can you call that tech support? Like, even went so far as to tell me that there is no point in trying another power cable because the laptop is just dead.. I'm baffled, and not just at the random, for no reason, refusal to start up, but the dumb fuck who answered the phone.

Having said all that, its very likely I'd trust any of you long before I would him anyway... So, I've pushed what I believe to be the EC reset button, theres also a little hole on the side by the usb ports with a battery over it. (Something that asshole didn't want to hear.) I do know that back when you COULD actually take the battery out of your laptop without having to pop it apart, taking the battery out was literally step one of the reset... So idk why hes telling me disconnecting the battery wont help.. Electricity doesn't give a shit about your little rules bro, it don't care if you say it can be there or not, if the battery was fully charged the night it gave out or whatever, there is a good chance its still got at least a small charge left in that battery. But NOOOO they just up and refuse to function as they always have, PERFECT LOGIC.. IDK if he was trying to turn a tech support call into a sale but I'll never buy another MSI product again. Infact I'm regretting the Mouse, Keyboard, Headset, and xbox controller I bought two weeks ago ALL MSI.. Anyone wanna buy some periperials? Give ya a deal..

I pray someone has better advice than "Its just dead" I'd even bet that one of you that reads this is reading it on a laptop older than the one that just quit on me and I rarely used it because its intel/nvidia and i'm a proud AMD fanbody, idc, the situation just doesn't make sense to me..
