Is this sarcasm?
They did make a sequel, Pacific Rim 2: Uprising. It just sucked, though it had a cool Transformer's call out in it.

Either you are continuing the sarcasm or are miss informed:
Wikipedia: Pacific Rim Uprising is a 2018 American mecha monster action film, the sequel to Pacific Rim) (2013).
Also, GDT stepped down from directing PR Uprising to do shape of water, he was the original director on Pacific Rim, so its the same franchise.
