They were really good! Massively successful, the hatred just became a meme as they were ubiquitous for a period in 2001-2003.

I’m assuming you guys are going? and probably American?

In Canada (a part too close to my home for comfort), where they’re from, they have been widely hated since they first blew up. Definitely since the Toby Spiderman days anyway. Chad sucks.

When I worked in Alberta, one of the guys I worked with had a nickleback feud. My hometown starts with an H and could potentially sound like Hannah, or be confused with it.

He would say (my hometown) isnt that where Nickelback is from? I would say No, thats Hannah, from your province. They're yours.

Thus we were constantly trying to blame each other for nickelback

Love it. Nickleback is among the most Alberta things in BC. The most obvious one is Kelowna.

Well, the population of Alberta is just over 5 million. Throw in the Fraser Valley and Sunnyvale Trailer Park and that explains it.
