graphite stylization practice

graphite Miniature Yoda (2,5cm x 4,5cm)
This is old one, but I wanted to share some of my art, because in some day it will be the 2nd anniversary of learning that I am seriously ill and this peace is special for me for that reason.
Cheers 🫡

from a photo Trying to learn realism
How is my likeness so far. It’s unfinished and ref is on slide 2. I made the head too much of an upside down triangle but I’m pretty happy with it overall

digital Dipping my toes in lighting
my goal is to be able to draw complex figures from my mind while avoiding studying altogether (don't recommend)
in a way, this is a map of what resolution I'm able to resolve in my mind of the human body. I feel that I'm stronger with heads and hands and so left them very simple while trying to focus in on torso->hip->leg cohesion. cheers!

seeking crit How do you level up your hand drawing in live figure drawing sessions (5-25 min poses)?
I'm trying to improve my hands in live figure drawing classes. Poses run from 5 to 25 minutes, the model sometimes shifts slightly, and I can't use photo references.
Drawing lots of hands is the obvious answer, but I'd love to hear about specific exercises or practice habits that made a real difference for you, especially ones that work within these time limits.
I've attached a few of my hand drawings. Some work better than others, so if you spot a mistake I keep repeating (proportions, structure, simplification, etc.), please let me know.
Thanks for any advice 🙏

graphite Is this, anything?
Ol' Reliable, Ticonderoga #2 HB, 6am at work at a hotel. I'm trying to draw things from my head more instead of using references. Just to exercise my imagination I guess?
ink Getting back into drawing,
Trying to get back into drawing. loved doing it is a kid but as I grew older I became very critical of myself and couldn’t enjoy it anymore. Trying to let it go and draw for fun whilst learning and keeping expectations low. Still struggling to keep at it but sometimes I make a cool drawing I’m proud of, like this one. Not very confident with the lights and shadows, as I mostly just winged it, but overall I‘m happy with it. If anyone has some advice on the drawing or the mentality of drawing itself please leave a comment!
