Why should I believe in God?

If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and needs absolutely nothing, why did he create us in the first place?

What was the point? If he created us to worship him, how is that not narcissistic?

Why create billions of people knowing they would suffer, only to demand their worship and threaten them with eternal punishment for not believing?

And why should I believe in a God who provides no verifiable evidence of his existence but expects unconditional faith?

Is Modesty Important for Society?

Recent controversy was sparked when comedian Shane Gillis made comments on SNL that were specifically directed towards the type of attire women wear out at the gym. It is interesting to see how much backlash and debate this incident has produced. However, it also brings up an important point regarding societal standards of dress, not simply in the gym, but everywhere in society.

Given this recent controversy, is modesty an important value for society?

What do you all think of this Australian couple’s explanation on why women go through miscarriages?

Alan John Miller, also known as A.J, claims to be the second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and his partner, Mary Suzanne Luck, claims to be the second coming of Mary Magdalene. The couple describe their discussions of Divine Truth as non-religious.

They claim that the incoming spirit of a child can sense the emotional environment and fear of the parents and may choose to leave before full physical birth takes place. They mention that they frequently speak with these children that have been miscarried and that’s where they get their information from.

They also teach that emotional baggage and "injuries" pass down generationally from parents to children. A woman might carry her own mother's or grandmother's unresolved grief and trauma, which manifests physically as a lost pregnancy.

My thoughts - I’m just curious to know if these two actually believe the stuff they’re saying or are they just clever con-artists/grifters. It’s really hard for me to tell what their motives are.

I’m curious to know what you all think of their perspective on this particular subject? Since it is such a controversial and debated issue.

What if gods began as fictional characters, and their fandoms lasted long enough for stories to become scripture, figurines to become sacred statues, and people to forget the stories were fiction?

Let's assume there is a God. If you were God, how would you do things better, than what God is doing now? And why would your reality be better?

Why is it so hard to believe that men can genuinely love women?

There have been so many times when I’ve genuinely liked a man, and the feelings were mutual, but I always ended up pulling away. No matter how much I liked him, I couldn’t bring myself to trust his intentions or feel comfortable with the idea of being romantically involved. I struggle to believe that a man could love me for who I am rather than what he desires from me, and that fear makes me walk away from connections I actually want.

Angels that communicate with humans?

Why do angels talk to us? I hear to them frequently and they know everything about me. My biggest question is what causes them to talk to us? I am not religious but they tell me they are angels. So why would they spend time in this realm? I can't tell

If we can live a fulfilling life on our own, what is the point of having an intimate relationship?

If we’re already happy being single, emotionally independent, and capable of meeting our own needs, what does a relationship actually add to our lives?

Maybe being in a relationship reveals parts of ourselves we never knew existed. But is that growth something we can only experience through intimacy, or can we discover it on our own, too?
