He could run the public speaker circuit for pretty much as long as he wanted to or sign brand deals. As long as he wasn’t a literal terrorist according to the government, he’ll be fine.
When I played SA2 with my younger brother he was a little too young to understand why Sonic would be chased by the government so I just told him it was all Eggman robots. Then when you play as Eggman you face the same robot enemies so I just told him the robots went rogue.

Does Sonic have any life skills or education?
Hes about 15 in current games with no home or schooling. Most of his skills are fighting, running fast and athletics.
I mean 27k rings and medical bills is a lot.
