You don’t know chaos until you’ve seen my tuxedo at the vet. They had to get a bin with holes to contain him and then apparently lots of drugs had to be administered through the air vented holes before they could even touch him. I asked how common it was and they said it happened once, over 10 years ago😅
One of the best things about having a cat is developing a repertoire of games you play together. Ah ok, you’re sitting in the box so you want me to get Mr Fish and poke his tail under the side and very slowly pull him away so you can run out and get him. Now you’re hiding under chair so you want me to hide behind the kitchen door so you creep round the corner and ‘catch’ me before I chase you upstairs.
My childhood cat loved to play "Bank Teller." He would sit in his cardboard box with a handle hole in the side, and I'd come up to him and say "Hello Mr. Bob, I need to make a deposit" and slide a slip of paper in the hole. He'd go crazy for that piece of paper xD I miss him
I love it so much. My little burnt kitty likes when I take a shoelace and run it along the ground side to side in a predictable pattern so she can plan her attack, do her little but wiggles and pounce at the best opportunity.
She used to be a farm cat and she love hunting, but its hard to hunt anything in an apartment.
Was a good substitute for not having a laser pointer (and also a good use for when I'd accidentally drop an ice cube), our cat chased it with ferocity lol (until she'd accidentally bat the thing under a table or somewhere unreachable)
Sunbeam + small hand mirror = even more fun according to one of our boys. He kept pawing at light reflecting off our watches so we tried the mirror. Only problem is that it’s limited by time of day and season.
You can also use cell phones and smart watches instead of a mirror. One of my cats LOVES it lol (she’s also the one who loves lasers more. Problem is once the laser is out she refuses to play with ANYTHING else, sometimes for days, so I rarely bust it out anymore)
I've got hardwood in the living room and my old void got startled by an errant ice cube one time and went into attack mode. Spent the next ten minutes enthusiastically chasing and trying to murder that cube, sliding it around, biting it and recoiling then batting it off the walls and so on. She always wanted to play chase the cube from then on.
😂 She really turned that ice cube into her sworn enemy, then decided it was her favorite toy! Cats can turn the most random things into the best entertainment.
Mine too. Other day I forgot to turn the water off while I was brushing my teeth and he hopped up and aggressively swiped at the running water. Looked like I pissed myself.
I like this game. Whenever I play with my little meow using a laser pointer, it's great fun but I always feel a twinge of guilt - like I might be gaslighting my poor furbuddy with unfathomable human magic and making him doubt his sense of reality.
With this, there's no doubt. Kitty looks right at the water bottle, knows it contains water and is ready to splash!
Do NOT give your cat Lucozade! They will have too much energy and win first place in their school race leading them to get a big ego and go to the Olympics never calling or visiting you again.
