Lore “Hey that’s not so bad- SWEET JESUS”

A shot is set up in such a way where it looks fine from one angle, then they reveal another that makes it look way worse

Infinity War - Thanos reveals Nebula hanging up imprisoned, then when the camera follows Gamora going to her we see that mechanical components are stretched out and her head and body are in pieces.

Breaking Bad - Hector sets off a bomb in a murder suicide against Gus but he seems to walk out fine impossibly, then the camera moves to in front of him and you see half of his face is just not there anymore.

The arm scene in Jurassic Park

Never understood this. His severed arm somehow ended up atop a cabinet and his entire body was devoured in less than 20 minutes by a lone Velociraptor. These things are giant naked scaly man sized monsters, as opposed to diminutive feathery fluffy turkey sized normal Velociraptors, but a lone one should barely be able to move after eating a meal almost its own size, much less be capable of chasing and hunting Sarah here.

First of all, Sarah?

There’s no reason to think it ate all of him. It wouldn’t need to. Grant explains that they disembowel and “you’re alive when they start to eat you.” So it likely incapacitated Arnold, disemboweled and started eating his organs. Arnold may have been thrashing in pain and adrenaline before dying, so the raptor likely removed the limb that was preventing her from eating peacefully and tossed it away.

As for the rest of his body, it’s a maze like complex, we don’t see every corridor. The raptor probably dragged it away somewhere. Maybe behind the cables that it emerges from when it attacks Ellie.

“How many Sara’s do you think are on this island?”

Cough?

I'd imagine the smell of rotting flesh and blood everywhere would tip one off something was wrong

Takes a while to rot, otherwise it smells a bit like copper and feces which would probably not stand out in the industrial area of a wildlife park

Probably should be yes, but we don’t see the other side the arm falls from

Flesh would not be rotting enough to smell yet. And blood smell would be present, but it’s not an immediate indicator that something is wrong, especially if you’re not used to the smell and you’re already panicked and in an unfamiliar environment. I worked in a hospital for 11 years, and blood smells metallic. And she’s in a big metallic building. If she noticed it at all, her first thought would probably be that water from the hurricane got in and something was rusting.

As someone who's moved thousands of bodies, you won't smell it for a few hours. And even that initial smell isn't exactly what you think of when you think rotting.

Former funeral director. It's poorly paid and mostly boring.
