We could have helped Ukraine bury this dictator and instead we're kissing his ass. This is disgusting beyond words.

People have been saying stuff like this for 4 years but none can explain how this would happen without something getting nuked.

You think if let’s just say the US deployed troops and equipment in Ukraine to protect the borders of Ukraine that Russia would throw nukes?

Russia would never nuke unless it was getting invaded because that is a guaranteed game-over scenario. It would simply stop the invasion of Ukraine.

The lack of a response from powerful allies has done nothing but shown that countries with nuclear weapons have power and those that don’t have none. It’s going to get a lot worse from here.

I think what a lot of people are missing and has been deliberately obfuscated is that Russia sees US troops in Ukraine on the border as an existential threat.

Countries with nuclear weapons -do- have substantially more power than those without. The US made this clear in the last two+ decades.

Of course they see it that way. The US would see it the same way if China had troops in Mexico and we were invading Mexico.

However, to nuke is to destroy your own country and an invading country can simply stop invading without being destroyed.

And yes everyone knows that countries with nuclear arms are more powerful. What they found out is even if you have allies with nuclear weapons it means nothing. All countries need to obtain nuclear arms to ensure their sovereignty that has now been made clear. I think Iran just learned this lesson as well.

I suspect all countries will now move to secure them which places the probability that they get used in the future higher than if an ally had stepped in.

Oh, you think Russia would nuke the troops in Ukraine? No, I think they would likely say "If the West is going to destroy us, we will destroy the West." and be nuking Western capitals. Maybe a "warning shot" on Kiev, to show they're serious.

That is the thing that people should be concerned with but aren't.

And yes, this is all consequences from US imperialism. Everyone needs a nuke now.

It’s all hypotheticals and predicting the actions of people is a fool’s game. However, nuking Ukraine especially with US troops in place is the least logical decision that could be made from any perspective. That would just guarantee their country which is currently intact since they aren’t being invaded is nuked in retaliation. It makes no sense.
