help request Need some help with subprojects

Hi, I'm switching to Reaper from Pro Tools (Mac) for the games part of my work. Was super excited about subprojects, but here's the problem:

No matter how I create a subproject, Reaper dumps everything from that subproject into the parents audio folder. If I create a project first, put it neatly into parentproject/subprojects and then import it from there Reaper will still copy the rpp and folder structure and put it into the parent audio folder.

For some reason a couple of times it worked, everything stayed in the subprojects seperate location, even the rpp-prox was created there, but I have no Idea what I did diferently.

I can't believe, that this is how it is done, will this not result in a gigantic mess?

There is an option to automatically copy imported stuff into the media folder. This includes sub projects. If you disable that option before importing the sub project, everything should remain the way you structured it. I have my sub projects as subfolders inside the main project media folder. I vaguely remember that I had a reason for putting them there instead of the main project folder but can't recall why right now.

Thanks, yes I had the copy on import setting off all the time, still didn't work. But I tried again now using "insert subprojekt" from the parent session, when prompted saved in a subfolder in the main project folder, and lo and behold it seems to work now! Cheers
