News & Discussion I had to cave in…
Listen, I just got paid, had a weird week, needed to treat myself. And do I treat myself with a $40 Overwatch skin…? Yes I do.

Widowmaker has had the same bland kit for ages now, I think it's time for a rework.
For one, let's make her more fun while being a more diverse hero who doesn't rely solely on the one shot to feel fun to play.
I'm no widow main, but I love all these characters pretty much equally, like on big family, so hear me out on this
REWORK: Widow's kiss (majority overhaul)
Hipfire/unscoped: For the sake of keeping her precision as a staple of her character, the unscoped primary fire will become slower but do more damage
Think of D.mons' "Focused fusion" perk's firerate with less damage.
DMG per bullet on body shot being 30 with a 1.7 crit modifier dealing 51 DMG
(With a very tight spread, just not pinpoint accurate)
[Fall off starts at 25 meters]
Scoped/ADS: damage is the same, but fully charged shots peirce.
Anyway, Don't you think a futuristic assassin would have different specialized bullets?
Here's the Idea - widowmaker's advanced rifle will swap through three different bullets depending on what she's ADS'ing at, those three bullets being-
(Anti-barrier| this bullet will deal critical damage to barriers)
(Anti-overhealth| this bullet instantly erase all overhealth from a character - this doesn't damage the actual health of the target)
(Anti-personel| this is the default ammo she uses for all armor-HP/shield-HP/normal-HP)
ABILITY: Grappling hook (function overhaul) if you grapple a ledge, you can still launch yourself, but it no longer auto tracks to them
Grappling hook can now stick you to walls and ceilings for up to 8 seconds
If you grapple to a wall, you will hang off the wall sideways, and your scope will orientate itself to an upright position (look controls/directions remain the same)
If you grapple to a ceiling, you will hang off of it a certain distance, and the widowmaker will do the same pose she does from the "ALIVE" cinematic
(Look controls/directions remain the same)
To cancel early, press your jump button or use the grapple ability button again.
ABILITY: Venom mine (REMOVED) traps are lazy imo, and in such a fast game, the ability feels outdated
ABILITY: Acrobatic Assault (ADDED)
Widowmaker will either Swandive into a kick that will make you soar downwards at an angle
(Active when suspended from a wall or ceiling)
OR
do a dainty lil roundhouse kick
(Activates when in air [NOT HANGING FROM GRAPPLE] or on the ground)
Both of these versions of Acrobatic Assault will deal 50 Damage and will boop enemies hit a short distance
ULIMATE ABILITY: Infrared sight (REMOVED) it doesn't add much to a team other than the sight, and in some cases, that's useful, but let's be real it's outdated.
ULIMATE ABILITY: Piercing gaze (ADDED)
Widowmakers ultimate will grant wallhacks to teammates for the duration of the ultimate, but only if widowmaker has actually had them in her LOS before the enemy leaves LOS
All spotted enemy's will take 5 bleed dmg per crit hit received
(This can Synergize with teammates that can aim)
(Ultimate still last 15 seconds)
END:
Okay so this MIGHT be loaded (thinking about it, the extra bullet types might be too far)
But the idea of her is to actively hunt down targets with her grapple suspension and dive in on unsuspecting enemies or defend herself from flanks with a vicious boop kick
Her supper compliments, hunting down enemies to reveal to the team and apply the "Peircing gaze" bleed on crit debuff
Her "Acrobatic Assault" moves are inspired by her "ALIVE" cinematic and more spurce material regarding Widowmaker (like her being a ballerina at some point if not still.
That is all, enjoy :D

Just because it is quickplay doesn’t mean u just mindlessly play the game
Sure don’t sweat play casually but i had 4 matches where people were just doing little to nothing. If you have 200dmg and 1 kill in 2/3 of the match why even play?
And then they start bitching in chat when i say please do something?
I don’t mind losing or people playing bad but cmon?!

I have had 5 people just today, and maybe 7-8 this week, leave when the score is tied 3-3 and we go into extra rounds (hybrid maps etc).
Are people just assuming that the game ended in a tie and end up leaving? At first I thought it was a random DC or something but this has happened at least half a dozen times in the last 24 hours and it makes me wonder if people think the game ended in a 3-3 tie and they just quit or alt F4.
Is anyone else experiencing this? What a crazy way to lose a game when you clearly still have a chance lol.

Hey everyone! I'm the person whose Workshop creation was stolen a little while ago.
I'm back to give you a quick look at a new Workshop mode I've been working on!
It's a Beyblade mode where you can combine different parts to build your own Beyblade and battle against others.
Hope you like it! Let it rip! 🔥

100% Not intentional, someone in my lobby had to point it out for me to notice.

I'm just curious if the devs have released any information on the attacker versus defender win rates in this map, because I feel like it's very attacker biased.

Bought the season 6 battle pass years ago and I made it to tier 37. I thought these passes were unlocked if you purchased them in the past? It wants me to repurchase again to finish completing it. It makes no sense to me unless I missed something. The other 4 unfinished battle passes that I bought years ago were unlocked…

I’m very new to overwatch and have only been playing qm (I’m nowhere near good enough yet to play in ranked), but I have always wanted to try the vc feature in-game (any game that has the vc feature I will likely use it just because I like to vc). When I did this, I realized that nobody in qm uses the vc feature like at all.
Is this different in ranked overwatch? Do people vc more?

I’ve thought about this a fair amount, mostly to recommend to new players who are kinda serious about getting good.
I think the two most important factors are (1) hero’s flexibility (how many maps can they play on, what comps they’re good with/into), (2) how consistently good the hero is (roughly: how often they’re at least B tier throughout patches and balance changes etc), and (C) how hard they get countered (kinda related to A, but basically ask “if a player on the other team goes a certain hero, am I cooked?”)
I think for support it’s Kiri and it’s not really close. She’s at least decent in any possible situation, and often the best pick. Ana’s a good pick but can struggle into hard dive, bap’s good but can get ran over and struggles at long poke… I think Kiri clears here.
DPS I think you have a few options: Sojourn, shion, freya. I’d probably pick soj. Shion can struggle at long range, like circuit she’s kinda trash for most of it. And freya is just less consistent cuz she isn’t hitscan. I cud also see tracer, but I think tracer does have some pretty hard counters, again struggles on poke-heavy maps, and also has basically no verticality.
Tank I think is the hardest because I don’t think any tank truly can play dive, poke, and brawl effectively. And a lot of them get hard shut down against certain heroes. But that said, I think it’s probably Hazard. He’s good at dive, he can be brawlic, and has decent mid-range poke.
What’re yall’s thoughts? What would you recommend for new players who want to climb without having to learn a buncha different heroes?

I'm pretty sure it's just bad luck and luck of the draw when I get paired up with randoms when playing overwatch, but I wish it didn't feel so lonely when I'm the only one in vc. I wish I had friends who enjoyed playing overwatch but I don't so that just leaves me by myself in vc. I'm not sure if I'm just annoying or no one is even listening but it just feels like I'm talking into the void, but does anyone else also experience this?

Does anyone have the Justice tarot card from this past Blizzcon? I’ve been insanely hyperfixated on the new Omnic character and want to get his card.

This probably won’t be a popular take, but it’s flat out true.
Lemme explain it this way: A lot of people think elo hell is real. It’s not, EXCEPT for a few exceptions - one of them being trying to onetrick Mercy. There are several t500/champ streamers who get stuck low elo for awhile when doing u2gm on mercy, simply because almost all of her value relies on teammates.
Because of this, Mercy is very hard to have individual impact (aka, “carry potential”). Other supports it’s the opposite - kiri, bap, ana, new sombra, wuyang to an extent, etc. you can get crazy individual value, which is why u2gm on these heroes is so much easier.
If you want to climb on support, you need to take duels. Take off angles. Hit flanks. I see so many support players calling for “peel” in a 1v1 - that is not when you call for peel. In almost any matchup, a support should be able to more than hold their own against a DPS.
I know it’s hard because you want to keep your perma-inting tank alive, but don’t. Take the side duel and win it. You will get infinitely better as a player if you learn to play aggressive and independently.
Obviously there are exceptions and times when healbotting is good and when you should expect peel, etc. but in general - don’t think of support as mercy: mostly getting value from enabling your teammates. It simply doesn’t work in ranked, especially in lower elo (assuming u rnt duoed).

Decided to practice Illari (for fun) in QP. Ended up defending on Eichenwalde. We started off point 1 very strong. Our tank was playing Hog, and after a few easy kills got cocky and started playing way too close to enemy's spawn. The enemy team had an Ana, and this resulted in our Hog getting too far in front, getting anti-naded, and dying.
After we lost the first point, someone on the other team was like "damn what a turn" and UNPROMPTED our Tank started roasting me in the chat. Talking about how I was too much of a baby to play up front, how I didn't know what I was doing, how I sucked, etc. The entire time, they kept playing up front, getting anti-naded, and dying.
I kindly responded that they needed to stop being so sweaty (they didn't know what that meant) and they told me that playing next to spawn is "just what emerald players do." Obviously made fun of them for bragging about being emerald as we lost and they continued to spam the chat about how much I suck.
Anyways I queue up again, and low and behold, the mean Tank ends up on the enemy team. They proceed to go 1 and 10, blame their healers, and leave half way through the game.
I've never felt so vindicated.

They’re very expensive yes. I just buy the battlepass for maybe £8 a month? I really wanted the le serrafim sierra skin but I just couldn’t justify it to myself.
I know a lot of moiras/ram players would love to have their ultra skins and the pricing is extreme but my question is..
The player cannot see it besides maybe the effects? Is it just the prestige of playing knowing you have it? I bought league skins when I used to play many years ago but I could still see it.
I’m not attacking anyone for buying them I’m just asking is it a sort of psychological thing
where we just want these cosmetics?

Valeria Rodriguez (voice of Venture) voices Roman in the English dub for the show. I was watching the new season which came out yesterday and every time Roman talked I was like “why do I know that voice?”

So, I enjoy watching Gamin4hope to see the things I should and shouldn't do from a streamer that gets reasonable attention. And I notice that (with the annoying as hell "bapbapbapbapbap") G4H constantly pressures his whole team to focus one target in every team fight.
I don't watch much top level gameplay, so I'm curious on how practical is that really. I see the pros, but constantly having to drop my target to go for my tank's target and getting passive aggressively shamed for not doing so would really irritate me.
Side note, if anyone has any channels that show his vods without constant bullying or constant gameplay cuts please share <3

I tried to buy some overwatch coins for my sister as a birthday gift for her since she loves the game, and Xbox screwed me over. The Xbox was signed into her account and I was in her overwatch account when I hit the purchase button, but it opened up the Microsoft store in my account and it wasn’t immediately obvious.
I requested a re-fund but was denied by Xbox. Just wanted to send a warning out so that others wouldn’t make the same mistake I did. Make sure your Xbox opens the correct Microsoft store account when buying overwatch coins. Apparently just being logged in under the correct profile in the game is not enough.
