Confessions of a female musician

Hi! I'm 24F, and I'm looking for musician friends to help me bring my heart and life back into music.

I used to release music and was really putting my heart into it. I had new ideas everyday. I composed music, built everything from start to finish, and I also had a companion—my ex best friend. He was a guy and we've been friends for almost a decade, he's literally like a brother to me.

He helped me materialize all my songs before. Although I knew how to play almost every common instrument, I compose better when I have ideas to throw around with and someone to ask to "hey can you try this melody on this and that".

Two years ago, he sexually harassed me in my sleep. After that, I lost all my soul and heart in making music. I can still play instruments and cover songs, but my composing just died.

I want to write and make music again, so I'm hoping to find some friends who I can be close with and make songs with as well.

Was geht? Das geht an alle die ein wenig Ahnung vom Musin produzieren haben. Vorallem an Leute die sich im Techno Genre bewegen.

Musik war für mich schon immer ein Ventil. Eine Möglichkeit Dinge und Situationen zu verabreiten. Letztens hat mich ein Schikcslasschlag ziemlich dolle getroffen und das würde ich auch gerne in Musil verarbeiten, aber in einem eigenen Track.

Nur leider habe ich absolut Keine Ahnung vom Produzieren und würde dabei Hilfe benötigen. Aktuel versuch ich mich in FL Studio zirecht zufinden. Finde es aber als Anfänger ziemlich schwer...

• Inuences: James Ford's production era on Arctic Monkeys' Humbug, Queens of the Stone Age. Think of the dark, moody atmosphere and psych-rock outros (like The Jeweller's Hands or Dance Little Liar).

What I bring to the table:

• Fully recorded raw tracks (guitars with proper fuzz tones, vocals, structural arrangement, rough ideas).
• A clear artistic vision of what I want.

What I’m looking for:

• Someone who genuinely loves this specific garage/desert rock aesthetic.
• Help with sound design, elevating the mix, and making the low-end punchy and organic.

I need some advice, I need to get a new MacBook Pro, but I'm a bit stuck on the amount Central memory. I am an Artist so it is mainly for music recordings etc. I use protools, and Logic. A Universal Apollo twin x duo interface. My vocal chain runs waves plugins, autotune central and some other ones that open in my session as a template. I don't do production myself. I selected M5 pro chip, 18cpu core and 20cpu core. 1TB cloud storage. for now, but stuck on the GB. I just don't want my laptop to experience any delays, latency or crashing when having multiple things open and or issues with saving. Any advice is very much appreciated :).

For fellow producers and music creators: What's one lesson you've learned about building a lasting career in music?

We make SL Dread at Sfoor Labs. It blends incoming audio with 30 evolving horror scenes, with controls for motion, decay, space and the balance between the source and atmosphere.

A practical starting point: send in a sparse piano phrase or synth note, keep the original audible, then gradually bring in the texture. Leaving gaps in the phrase gives the tail room to develop. It can be useful for unsettling music, film cues and game sound design.

iPhone and iPad: standalone app and AUv3 effect. To process a track from another music app, insert Dread in a compatible AUv3 host.

Mac: Apple Silicon, VST3 and Audio Unit. Mac purchases/subscriptions and App Store purchases are separate.
