3.2 litres of petrol at Rs. 23.50 and 100 ml motor oil at Rs. 1.50. He said he has some stashed away from the 60s and 70s too and is looking for them. I wonder if this Petrol Pump still exists in Dadar?

up for adoption in Pune/Mumbai/Bangaloreā€¼ļø

Penny is a 1 year old female tabby cat. She’s litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and sterilised. She’s extremely friendly and easy to handle. She’s based in Pune but can travel to Mumbai and Bangalore.

With patience, she can get along with other cats if you decide to have another in the future but for now, we’re looking for someone who doesn’t have another pet. She needs to be the first cat in the household.

She’s used to staying alone for a few hours that are compatible with work timings but she’ll also be a great companion to wfh folks. She usually sleeps throughout the afternoon.

She doesn’t like being confined to one room/limited space and needs to have access to the whole house to feel comfortable. Penny’s always been an indoor cat and should continue to remain so.

She’s very playful and some of her favourite toys are catnip mouse, feather toys, balls and having cat trees and cat perches and shelves since she loves heights as well. Cats are generally a huge fan of vertical space and so is Penny. She’s also a cat tv lover. Since she won’t have a companion for the time being, she needs attention towards playtime from her adopter. This means you have to dedicate some time before and after office to play with her and tire her out.

Penny can be a night owl but as long as she has access to the whole house and is comfortable, she understands when people are sleeping and eventually settles down too.

Penny currently eats Smylo wet food (two packets in a day, one for breakfast and one for dinner) along with Royal Canin dry food for lunch. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable with providing good nutrition - so they either stay on these brands/diet or switch to other higher quality brands.

Penny loves an organised environment and doesn’t do well with unhygienic spaces and behaviours like not cleaning her litter box and bowls frequently.

Penny will be a great choice for first time adopters/people who have experience with cats. She’ll require 2-3 days to decompress and a week to properly settle down but it all depends on her pace.

Reason for putting her up for adoption: Penny was rescued last Diwali because she got separated from her mother due to firecrackers. She was adopted in March but due to the adopter’s neglect, she ran away from the house twice and we had to get involved again when we understood that they weren’t actively searching for her. We’re cat rescuers and therefore can’t keep every cat we rescue because then we’ll run out of resources to help others.

Penny has stayed with multiple fosters and we’re pretty confident in her behaviour as a single cat. With another cat, it can be a hit or a miss but she’ll do well with younger kittens.

Adoption formalities are mandatory. We’re looking for serious adopters - people who know they can provide a stable environment and can commit to a pet for their lifespan. We’re not looking for students or bachelors who are not sure of their future plans as adopters.

For more information, please DM

Discussion What's a Mumbai phrase that makes perfect sense to Mumbaikars but leaves everyone else confused?

Living in Mumbai, we pick up words and phrases that become so normal we forget how strange they might sound to someone from another city.

My contribution: "Bas 5 minute mein pahunch raha hoon." šŸ˜‚

Five minutes in Mumbai is less of a time estimate and more of a statement of hope.

What's your favourite Mumbai phrase, and what does it actually mean when a Mumbaikar says it?

Discussion 2 persian kittens (2.5 months old) need loving homes - Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra

Thumbnail

My neighbours moved away and left their two cats behind in their garden. The male was attacked and killed by stray dogs (there are many in our area). The female was pregnant and gave birth to 2 kittens.

The kittens are now 2.5 months old (DOB: 30th july 2026) and ready for adoption. I have been feeding all three and keeping them in our basement, but I cannot give them proper long-term care. My parents don't allow cats inside the house, and I can only afford dry food for now, which is not ideal for kittens.

Details:

Breed: Persian

Kittens: 2 (2.5 months old)

Mother: adult female

Not vaccinated, not dewormed yet

Location: Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Maharashtra

Important: the 2 kittens must be adopted together. They are very close to each other, so I will not separate them. Please message only if you can take both.

The mother is also available for adoption, but in a separate home. She must be sterilized (spayed) before adoption. I will arrange this with the adopter, and it is a must.(The last photo is of mother)

I am looking for responsible adopters who can give them a safe indoor home, proper food, vaccinations and vet care.

Contact: 8007154231(whatsapp only)

I’m posting here because Mumbai is relatively close to Sambhajinagar, I haven’t had any luck finding adopters on other cat adoption subreddits yet.

Discussion Is Humans of Bombay getting ridiculous?

Every now and then, I come across a post which is ... off (for a lack of a better word). Like I cannot understand whether it is a paid post or if the writers were busy and threw in something random just to meet a deadline. Also, are they having an identity crisis - is it still a storytelling platform or is it a news outlet?

I'm taking two recent examples - a techie committed suicide allegedly due to financial distress after having a premature baby (35-40 lakhs expenses) and a divorce settlement (15 lakhs)? He has not left a suicide note, nor blamed anyone for his decision. The last slide of the HoB post was the actual video of him jumping to his death. It was insensitive and completely unnecessary to post the video. The way the post was worded caused commenters to bash the ex-wife and women in general, feminism, marriage, etc. I mean... you know the misogynistic space that is the Internet.

Yesterday, there was another post about a finance influencer who committed suicide. This was in the context of an entrepreneur questioning the finance influencer's credentials or lack thereof, which turned out to be a critical non-compliance due to which his accounts were suspended. Is this "cyberbullying"? Are influencers who give out financial advice, based on which people invest their hard-earned money, not accountable to show the public their qualifications? This is valid questioning and critique in my view.

Pending police investigation, should a suicide related post portray someone to be responsible for the tragedy? Why are sensitive nuanced topics like this not being handled with grace?

Relationships How do I tell my parents about the guy I like 😭

I like a guy and I am super scared for exposing this news to my parents

Guys please help me and suggest ways and tips on handling this situation.

I am a Maharashtrian and so is he. We both are Chartered Accountants earning similar pay. He is elder to me by approx 4 years. Also there is a caste difference. Apart from that, I am living in Mumbai since birth but he is from a tier 3 city currently working in Mumbai. I have reached the so called age to get married so mu family have started hunting for grooms but I don’t want to get into arrange marriage setup.

His family background is strong enough to convince a sane person but my parents are strict and they are not the only people who will take decision.

The matter discussed with my maternal and paternal families and decision would be collective.

Discussion How is this okay?

Went out for a birthday dinner last night, and the experience was ruined by a group of 6 couples with 5–6 kids who were being excessively loud. It was so noisy that having a conversation at our own table became difficult. I have nothing against children being taken to restaurants, but when did it become acceptable for parents to let their kids run riot while everyone else is expected to tolerate it?

The fort outlet of this restaurant is wonderful, which is why we chose to go to the Borivali outlet to cut down on the commute. Bad decision! Why should an entire restaurant have to compromise on its dining experience because one group cannot be considerate of others? And why does expecting some basic noise management automatically risk making you the villain who hates children?

Children are children. Nobody expects them to be silent, but parenthood doesn't exempt you from being considerate of other people in public spaces. Have we normalised this kind of entitlement?

General Where can I get a screen refit / colour polarizing mod done for my Casio F-91W?

Post image
63 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been wanting to customize my Casio F-91W with a color gradient screen refit, but I'm looking for someone who can help me get this done properly in Mumbai.

* The Mod: Applying color gradient screen refit stickers / polarizing film.

* Location: Anywhere in Mumbai (preferably central, south Mumbai, or accessible via local train/metro).

Does anyone know of a local watch modder, hobbyist, or an old-school watch repair shop that takes on custom mod requests like this? Or if you've done this yourself in the city, I'd love to know where you sourced your materials or got it fitted.

Thanks in advance!

This poor baby's story is quite tragic. She's human friendly, so much so she curls up next to you, holds your face and licks it clean because you're a stinky poo

Someone took advantage of her nature and sa'd her with something, it left her with prolapse but she recovered well..

We are looking for a good family for her. She's absolutely lovely and lovesssss to play all the time and ofc eat like she's never had food...

She's based in Mumbai atm and idk for long I could keep her with me because I already have 18 cats and it's a lot..

So if you're someone who has space for one tiny life please please let it be Max

She's spayed, vaccinated, dewormed every 3 months, 1 y/o and an absolutely healthy baby

Her getting out of my place just reminded me how much she needs a safe place to call her own. She's my rescue baby and I'll never send her back to the park where she was abused but I would love if someone could her a good life and be her forever family 🄹🩷

General Andheri society redevelopment - builder with sketchy background. what to do?

Hi our society is going in for a redevelopment and we are almost through deciding a developer. They are fairly new, and just wanted to check with the community as to how have they evaluated their redevelopment builder?

Our society details:
- Location: Andheri
- Plot size: ~600sqm
- Flats: 19

Our developer details:
- Started the company around 1.5 years ago
- 2 projects ongoing - Andheri and Malad (None are RERA registered)
- Additional area offered lucrative,

- Claim to have BMC contacts, so approvals can be easily done

The catch is the lead partner in the LLP has no real estate experience and the other partner has done some projects but in different companies, and is a silent partner. On doing some thorough research, I understand that there is a growing trend in the mumbai real estate industry how some new operators are trying to enter the industry.

Has anyone faced this in the past? If so, how did you navigate it?

General Looking for a place to keep my dog during Diwali to avoid the fireworks scare

I have an adopted indie dog. He is quite scared of firecrackers. He cannot handle it. This Diwali something unavaoidable has come up, and I have to leave. Hence am looking for some place to keep my dog for about 5 days during Diwali where there is almost no firecracker noise. This is the important part. I understand that such places might be away from the city, and am okay with that.

Any helpful information is appreciated. Thank you.

Relationships what should I do? I feel so bad😭

So today was one of my work colleagues' engagement ceremony. At first, I was so happy to be invited but at the final moment i skipped it😭

Timings were from 10 AM to 12 PM and omg the commute is from Malad to worli which takes around 1.5 hrs. Now, as i have been working extra (weekends and holidays), i was feeling so so tired to wake up early. Finally, I thought let it be, there's no point in reaching after the ceremony. But I'm feeling really really bad! I took a leave for this very event and I didn't attend😭 other friend who was invited didn't go too.. please guys tell me what to do? I'm thinking of getting chocolates for her

Tl;dr: I skipped my work colleagues' engagement due to the commute and time, now feeling bad about it

General Sahivalue advertised Cashify to me. Cashify quoted ₹55k for iPhone resale in Mumbai, offered ₹45k, and settled at ₹52k.

Post image
27 Upvotes

Wanted to sell my 2 year old iPhone 15 Pro Max in Mumbai.
Started with Sahivalue, whose website proudly guarantees that they’ll beat Cashify’s price by ₹500 to ₹15,000.

Interesting marketing strategy. I went there to sell my phone and ended up discovering their competitor. :)
So I checked Cashify.

Their process is impressively convenient.
Enter phone details, answer a few questions about scratches, condition, etc., and voilĆ , your phone is worth ₹55,000.

A technician arrives at your doorstep.
Inspects the phone for 10 minutes.
Suddenly, the ₹55k becomes ₹45k in the app.
Apparently, the phone has developed a few issues that justify a ₹10,000 reduction.
I politely declined.

And then something fascinating happened.
The technician, who had just explained why my phone was worth only ₹45k, suddenly discovered some room for negotiation.
Ten minutes later, we settled at ₹52,000.
Same phone. Same battery. Same scratches. Same technician.

Just ₹7,000 more valuable after a conversation.

My take:

The online quote gets the company through your door.
The inspection establishes a much lower anchor price.
And then the negotiation begins, with the customer feeling they’ve won something if the final price is above that revised quote.
To be fair, I got a decent price in the end. But the entire process made me wonder how many customers end up accepting that first revised offer.

Anyone else experienced this with Cashify?
Is ₹45k really what their assessment said the phone was worth, or was it simply the opening bid in a negotiation?

Discussion Living in Mumbai is hell!!

I'm 18 (M) who just came to Mumbai for college. I live in a sharing flat with 6 ppl with only one washroom which costs me 10K per month in Amboli of Andheri West. My vibes don't match with my roommates and whenever I ask them to explore the city they always deny . Moreover they taunt me (especially one kid ) regularly which annoys me sometimes.

And.. whenever there are some issues like wifi is not working or the washing machine they don't co-operate and do nothing for it. Tbh I didn't think that it would be that struggling now I kinda regret coming here as my parents have to spend more than 17k per month which is too much imo.....

Political Protests against the desalination plant in Manori, Mumbai

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1.7k Upvotes

The local fishing communities in Mumbai, especially the areas close to Manori, have opposed the desalination plant.

Fisherfolk are concerned that the waste/salt brine that will be dumped into the sea, will severely damage the ecosystem due to the high concentration of sale and significantly impact the livelihoods of the fishing communities. Local fisherfolk were not taken into consideration while taking this decision.
