Topic basically. I'm really not a graphics person (i play retro games mostly) but the Switch 2 version somehow looks blurred/ unfocused/washed out and i can't ignore it. It's like a wrong setting or something. I quit the demo after about 30 mins. I played Wilds for about 100 hours on the PS5 for comparison.

I know it was quite clunky and a little poorly implemented, but taking that first dive was just something different.
I think underwater was simply ahead of its time. It’s much better suited for new gen where we have proper camera control and fluidity in movement.
Plus I genuinely like Piscine wyverns but I think they’re wasted potential. Like, of course a FISH on land is going to be pretty lame.

Repeat Kiranico is down, this is not a drill
Edit: my bad I didn't realize Kiranico isn't utilized by a bigger percentage of the community, I used it for all my 3U, 4U, and GU needs

Hello Hunters!
I'm a french 29 guy, just discovered Monster Hunter's licence past year with Wilds.
As first monster hunter game i've played... Fallen in love with the universe, the gameplay, monsters, vibe, musics... Everything is amazing.
Finished monster hunter wilds, while waiting the extension "Ascendance", I thought it would be good to test Monster hunter World.
Woaw woaw woaw!!!! Just played 6 hours and its still really good game! Thought the graphism will be aged but no! At all! I think its borderline more beautiful than Wilds! Like there's so much more life and details in Monster hunter World!
What the f....? Guys im i crazy or Monster hunter World is better than Wilds? What do you think?

Been wanting to get into Monster Hunter but not sure where to begin. Should I start with Rise or Wilds, or should I ease into the universe with one of the MH Stories games?

I just share a list of random things concerning the franchise and personal taste , please don't take it too seriously. I just wanted to share non professional opinion and see what other people think.
1- I could play a game without rathalos and rathian not being in the roster and it doesn't make a difference if they aren't present in a game . I get their importance for the whole existence of the franchise, like Pikachu is for pokemon. I just frankly don't care for those two
2- seeing a new weapon , like a 15th new addition to the Franchise. I know we got some semblance of that but something that would stick could be nice.
3- not having other Fatalis / creating new black dragons. Honestly alatreon might have been a community divide but I just want other black dragon man.... Dire moralis represent
So yeah ... That was my time wasting post.

Hello everyone, I’ve been interested in monster hunter for a few months and wanted to get my hands on it and join in the bandwagon, but I need help. I want to know where to start with? Should I play the very first game? Play the latest? Is there a recommended one for newbies? Play the best one? Is there an order I should follow or should I go freely? I need your help so I can not just understand the monster hunter series more, But also have an amazing time with it. Thank you for helping😊

Hey gang, wanted to see it myself real quick so I did few screenshots close to the base.
PC is on medium settings, high textures without the highest resolution pack, with few settings on high for effects, fog, gi and such, 1440p with DLSS on Balanced, RTX 3080.
Probably not the best way for comparison because now I see that reddit compresses heavily
Edit: here are external links for better quality screenshots. Retook the last one that is more accurate to the daytime:

If you don't know monster hunter is split between the mainline games, games like world and wilds, and the portal ones like rise and they both seem to have slightly different design philosophies when it comes to the monsters
The mainline games are usually more focused on the ecology part and making monsters that are TaylorMade for their environments, and the portable ones tend to more focus on the rule of cool, just making making monsters that are really cool
Compare goss harag and legiana, legiana's defining feature is it's ability to use up updrafts to glide across the coral Highlands, goss harags defining feature is it's ability to make ice blades on its arms and stalk their prey in the dead of night, both ice monsters I love but with very different design philosophies, I'm not sure which I like better, both can be amazing but overall I think I like monsters that are made specifically for an environment and have little non combat focused details and adaptations, but that's just me

Hi! I have played MHW:I and MH Generations Ultimate on the Switch. I'm still playing them, have around a 100 hours on both. My question:
I have a PS Vita and an AYN Thor, and I've been thinking about playing some older MH games once I'm done with the ones I'm playing right now. Does it make sense to play Freedom Unite and P3rd on the PS Vita (PSP Versions), and Tri Ultimate, 4 Ultimate and Generations Ultimate (the 3DS versions) on the Thor?
What I mean is if it makes sense content-wise. Like, am I gonna find the same content in them if I already played Generations Ultimate on the Switch? Or will every game have some differences in content?
Thanks!!!

I'll start. Personally yes, they should've brought back Thunderbubble instead of creating a new Mizutsune that just has fire element again. Granted I love Violet Mizutsune and I love his attacks and his Bubble spirit bomb attack that he has, but imagine what it could've looked like with Thunderbubble. Not to mention that we do need more other element monsters that are not fire element. Not to mention the dark blue and yellow just looks way cooler for it, not to mention the armor. I think Capcom had a missed opportunity to bring it back.

Well I just wandering for a while and based on the rancor post , i wonder how well it could do , being is natural hábitat the desserts of tatooine , and the two subspecies i know of being the the canyon krayt dragon being a lot smaller and have just 4 legs , the greater krayt dragon wich can spray a very strong acid, this are normally the apex predators of their planet
(Note i just use the legends art works just because i like their desing a little more)
I could imagine is envirmental rivals could be things like diablos or try to predate on other sand duellers

This is a preliminary job, although I am pretty satisfied with this particular clade I will eventually move towards a paper defending my thesis for the complete phylogenetic tree.
A few rules I am taking into consideration:
1.- Only true species enter in the cladogram. For instance, if the male and female are distinct monsters, they will only be represented once. The same applies for variants, deviants or any distinct monster that is considered a member of a species, but for any given reason they have adapted, mutated, became infected. (e.g., Hellblade Glavenus, Raging Brachydios, Furious Rajang, Gore Magala).
2.- Only monsters with evolutionary origins are included. This automatically excludes Constructs (such as Zoh Shia and Guardians)
3.- Only monsters with a mainline iteration are included. So if there is a variant in Frontiers, Online, Stories, or other spin-offs will not be included.
4.- Only large monsters will be included (primarily for the sake of my sanity).
5.- Only relevant canonical data will be gathered and evaluated. Hunter's Guild Monster Classification (Amphibian, Piscine Wyvern, Flying Wyvern, Brute Wyvern, Bird Wyvern, Snake Wyvern, Fanged Wyvern, Fanged Beast, Leviathan, Elder Dragon, Demi-Elder, Construct, Temnoceran, Neopterons, Caparaceons, Cephalopods) will be treated as behavioral and superficial umbrella terms that, for the most part, do not constitute valid taxonomical clades.
6.- Some canon data will be disputed and actively reevaluated to further align with modern cladistics. This liberty is taken in light of taxonomy and phylogeny being an active topic of discussion and research within the world of Monster Hunter.
If you have any piece of trivia and/or data from an official handbook I'd be thrilled to know more about it!

I know I gone over this with tier list but I want to explain the reasons why I wanted to pick each of these monsters, plus with predication that trailer will happen tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to do.
Deviljho; One of my top 3 personal favorites monster in the franchises as I love the idea of fighting a giant pickle like trex who invades other ecosystems because he is hungry. I haven't play Monster Hunters World yet and I don't know how his gameplay is like but I would love to fight him in Ascendance.
Gammoth; she might be the least likely, but my most wanted for lots of things. I would love to see fated four be rendered in morden day, maybe one day reunite with them and give new abilities or movesets to flesh her out. for iceshard cliffs, I know it would not be enough but I thought of having her in either stage that acts like 3 stage for Jin dahaad and Omega as Gammoth's arena or with Lao-Shan Lung going to Iceshard Cliff and accidently made enough room to have Gammoth to fit in.
Glavenus; He is a spikey dinosaur with sword for tail that can ignites and cut though anything, plus he is part of fated four. Is there more I need to say?
Astalos; you cannot have fated four without Astalos. Besides Rey dau, Astalos might be my favorite Flying wyrens thanks to his design, behaviour and the cool idea of making electricity just by moving around.
Nergigante; he is most wanted elder dragon because of couple of reasons. Since Elder Dragons would be minor role in story of Ascendance, I think it would be awesome to see Nergigante come back to hunt down the Elder dragons that will cause problems in Ecosystems. Since he didn't show up in rise, I thought it would be cool to see him in action again.
6-9. Khezu, Lao-Shan Lung, Kushala Daora and Teostra; all of them are comfried already.
Namielle; She would be the fitting elder dragon for Scarlet Forest in my opinion as she can control the water and she wasn't in rise. Plus her design is incredible
Velkhana; I know she has been in alot of games already but I think she will fit quite well in Iceshard Cliffs.
Valstrax; I feel like Skybound Eyrie was made for him.
Shagaru Magala; Since Gore Magala is already in base roster, I would not be surprised if he shows up.
Najarala; I wanna see more of snakes representations in Monsters Hunter and it would be treat to see him come back, maybe with a new pal who is a snake Wyvern.
Seltas Queen and her mate; I think their design and gameplay look incredible, Plus its been a long time since the last time we saw them.
Goss Harag, Rakha-Kadaki, Malzeno or Lunagorgon; to represents Monster Hunter Rise
17-18. Gundoraja and Araketa; Already confirmed
19-20. Flagship and final boss; well, every games needs a flagship and new final boss.
22-32. Guardians, Variants and Sub species; since people are predicting that these guys might show up and previous games have sub species or variants, I would be okay with it

With the recent announcement that there would be no 15th weapon for ascendance, I’ve gone back to thinking about what a 15th weapon would look like. For me it would have to meet multiple qualities to be considered for inclusion. It would have to provide some meaningful gameplay loop that is not currently in the game. It would have to be a weapon that would be easy to design based around current existing and future monsters it has to feel like it fits into the lore of the world.
For my entry into the pile, I would want a weapon the bridges the ranged and melee worlds. Insect glaive currently kind of does this, but with the kinsect really only being used for tic damage and gathering. You aren’t really getting a balance between range and melee.
I propose the wyvern scythe. Essentially a quick moving scythe weapon with a built in shotgun/long rifle I.e pierce and close range shells. Focusing on the boost bracer mechanic have your firepower be converted into an accel axe style slam. I think this would create a fun gameplay loop of dash in, slash, fall back, fire, charge big slam when dazed. Rinse repeat.
What are your dream 15th weapons.

I saw my friend playing Monster Hunter and i really wanted to try it, it looks very fun. I never played any monster hunter game though.
Which one should i start with?
My friend told me both are good but World was easier for him to understand the game in his first time

I just saw Street Fighter today and I thought the film was pretty good and was very faithful to the game's in its tone and style, even though it wasn't perfect, it was better than the 1994 film.
I did watch the 2020 Monster Hunter film and it wasn't great. Yes rhey were parts they did get right on the game but the u.s. military and wormhole subplot lost me there, plus it wasn't well written or produced well.
To me, the guys at Legendary (and preferably Warner Bros) would be perfect on making a Monster Hunter film, plus Jason Momoa would be a perfect star for it. The same guy who directed Kong Skull Island should make it!
Who and what studio shoukd be trusted with Monster Hunter?

So ive been thinking about getting monster hunter wilds as a "first" monster hunter game because its the most modern game but the only other games in this series I've played are monsterhunter stories for the 3ds and mhnow and I wanted to know if its worth it or should I buy a different game
