Meme It was still common when we grew up, right?
I don't think I could live with myself if I did it to my own kid these days, to be honest

I got spanked with hands, belt, spoon, fly swatter, until I was about 10. I rememberthe last time I was spanked I was laughing my ass off. I don't even remember why. I just laughed. Then my Mom called my grandpa, who whipped me with his belt, at which I also laughed.
For swearing we had a bar of soap that we had to take a bite out of, chew it up, and then brush our teeth and tongue. Once we'd brushed our entire mouth out we could finally rinse. Used to make me puke almost every time.
A couple years a go (as a 30 y/o married adult who has their own home) my Mom gifted me a kitchen towel that said "I Survived Getting Spanked" and wooden utensil set that all had a target that said "Spanking Zone" on them.
