yes, I was googling for "Non-Smart TV that doesn't spy on me" the other day.

Since my large dumb TV is slowly dying. Might need to open and repair it.

You can prevent a smart TV from spying on you by never connecting it directly to your WiFi/internet.

I bought my first smart TV about a year ago. It would not permit me to use the TV without connecting to the internet first.

I'd take it back for a refund.

Got an email today for 40% off a 80-something inch Samsung. Thought it sounded like a good deal, until I saw it was a "Smart AI" TV and backed away real quick. There is nothing smart about AI.
