I was just saying today how commercials weren't so bad on live TV as streaming cause we couldn't pause anyway it was a nice chance to get your snacks or use the bathroom. Plus they used to build natural transitions into shows for the breaks, now they just cut in the middle of a scene

Not even just shows – it used to feel really special when a recent release movie got a primetime TV slot. They’d advertise it all week to build the anticipation, then when the time came around you could settle in for a solid 8:30pm to 10:30pm evening viewing experience including ad breaks. They’d also usually fade into a cool-looking movie title card for a few seconds right before each ad break. It felt weirdly like part of the whole movie experience.
