I get the intention but this should not be the case every single time.
Losing a pet and then getting a new one is not going to replace the old one. They are each unique in their own ways, like humans.
As a previous dog owner, I realized I was tied down a lot and revolved my schedule and budget around my dog..I couldn't travel without needing pet accommodation, I needed extra money to pay for my dog's foods, I couldn't go out an hang out with my friends as long because I had to go back and walk/feed my dog, etc. When I lost my dog to cancer, it fucking hurt like hell to lose him, but I also didn't feel as tied down..also, I didn't want to feel like I was replacing him and needed some time. The cost and burden of owning a pet is something that should be discussed with the owner prior to getting a new one.
I'm glad his reaction shows he's appreciative, but can you imagine if one of your friends randomly got you a pet unexpectedly and now you're responsible for the well-being for that animal?
That's a bit of a naive and narrow-minded thing to say.
If I were in that guy's shoes and someone gave me a new puppy after I just lost my soul dog, I'm not taking it in. Hell, it's already been 4 years since I lost mine and I still wouldn't want to take in a new dog..it's a lot of responsibility.
Yeah, that's you mate. Let this guy feel however he wants and stop projecting onto him. Sorry you lost your dog but we all move on in different ways. Can't there be one positive thing on the internet without people tearing it down?
Who the fuck said this should be the case every time. Only you have made this one single video about something else. Not one person has said - yeah this is great, let's do this every time someone loses a dog.
How egotistical can you be to think that your opinion is the only 'realistic' one. Let us enjoy a moment of happiness you knob.
