Question Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra (H4233) has Android 8 and can't be updated OTA to Android 9

SOLVED. Thanks to everybody and especially to u/ProximusXX.

My H4233 has only Android 8.0.0 and the software update in the phone settings says it's the latest available (even after refreshing). The LineageOS installation guide says that the device needs Android 9. Installed the Sony Xperia Companion software in hope it offers an update possibility but it only "repairs" the device. Still Android 8.0.0. No OTA update possible.

Should I do the LineageOS installation guide despite of Android 8? Is there an installation guide for an older LineageOS which is compatible with Android 8 (and later easily updatable to the newest LineageOS)?

Thanks in regards.

Download the update with XperiFirm and flash it manually.

Thanks. Downloaded XperiFirm.

Does it matter which firmware market I choose? My build number is 50.1.A.4.76

EDIT: After a lot of research, going through deprecated guides, dead links, etc. I managed to flash Android 9 (with a randomly selected country market). Hoping the LineageOS installation will all go well now...

EDIT2: Did it and installed the official LineageOS 24. Worrying about some necessary apps, I stupidly installed the Google Apps add-on. Now the keyboard suggests Gemini, etc... Don't like that and need to revert that.
Seems that there's a microG build for me Phone. It's LineageOS 23. Can I just follow the installation guide from page 4 with the microG variant of LineageOS and the microG boot.img or do I need to install stock android, again, and starting the installation guide on page 1?

EDIT3: Yes, I could start from page 4. Works perfectly without the usual google bulls***.
Thanks to u/ProximusXX for his reply, which helped me to start this very first LineageOS journey. Also thanks to all the LineageOS developers, guides and everybody involved. This is a really great project!
