When you agree with someone and they have to double down to back up their "authority" or "toughness"
For example....
Boss: You made a mistake.
Me: Yeah I'm sorry.
Boss: You SHOULD BE SORRY!
Me: I was wrong.
Boss: Yeah you WERE WRONG.
Me: You're right.
Boss: I know I'm right, I don't need you telling me that!
Me: It won't happen again.
Boss; It had BETTER NOT!
Substitute "boss" for parent, teacher, cop, judge, etc....it grinds my fucking gears.

Approximately forty years ago, I had this conversation with my art teacher and it still makes me furious.
Me: Can I have a new piece of paper please sir, I accidentally tore mine Him: What do you mean you tore it? Me: Well, it got a rip in it Him: What do you MEAN it got a rip in it? Me: It became...split?
This went on for some time. I would have said that I had rent it asunder if I'd known the words at that time. Anyway, he's dead now, so all's well that ends well.

Funnily enough, this is a social situation where autism can be advantageous.
Not reacting as anticipated (neurotypicals usually respond to aggressive non-verbal cues from a hierarchical superior with anxious deference) tends to really take the wind out of their sails. Just blank affect and genuine confusion as to why they're still going on about something which you've resolved tends to shut this sort of nonsense down because a confused reaction towards their yelling isn't as satisfying to them as an anxious response.

Nothing makes a NT look unhinged than autistic accountability.

You gotta realize most NT's aren't even doing this sort of nonsense on purpose. Socially obtuse bullshit is a compulsion to a lot of them the way stimming is a compulsion to a lot of us.

“Is there anything else you’d like to say?”
That usually ends the conversation.
