Probably the worst adaptation imo, what are some other examples come in our mind?
I just read the book and I realised how nerfed he got. For me book Euron seemed like a nightmare, mysterious, unimaginably cruel, and possibly one of the most dangerous men in ASOIAF. The show made him look like he is just a horny cheap pirate.

Does anyone else love that scene where Margarie says that she'd offer Cersei a drink, but that it's a bit early in the day for her?
That scene is pure Mean Girls. I'm not sure if it was in the books or not (I'm not that far in yet), but it sent me.
Marg also implies that Cersei is old and that Tommen is hers now and doesn't need his mom. Just dissing her with a sweet voice and a smile on her face in front of all her friends.

Rewatching Game Of Thrones and Season 5 & 6 are awesome when you don’t have a bunch of people trying to convince you they aren’t
What are your guys thoughts and opinions on these 2 seasons compared to seasons 1-4, because I keep seeing so much hate towards them
Season 5 might debatably be the most grim season of the series but it might have the best 3 episode run with Hardhome, The Dance Of Dragons and Mother’s Mercy. I always hear people say the beginning is slow, but I think it’s just coming off how fast paced season 4 was, which is why it might feel that way to some people. I enjoyed most of the storylines besides Dorne even though I like Jaime and Bronn teaming up together to get Myrcella back. I thought Stannis’ plot line was gut wrenching, and I loved seeing Jon as Lord Commander.
Season 6 has so much pay off, it feels like after so much suffering viewers had to endure, fan favorite characters were actually able to accomplish their goals. I’ve seen people say it’s spectacle slop but I thoroughly disagree. The High Sparrow’s storyline became way more interesting. Seeing a transformed Theon return to Yara in Pyke weirdly made me emotional. Seeing Daenerys burn down the slave masters ships gave me chills. From seeing Brienne actually being able to protect a Stark to Ramsay finally getting the death he deserves, to Cersei becoming of Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, season 6 is packed with so many plotlines that drastically change the story I really loved revisiting it.

What was your “gasp” moment in GOT?
Even during a rewatch, Tommen jumping, the photo I posted, gets me every time!!

Rewatched GoT and the last season was… not that bad this time?
I’m not sure why but I didn’t hate season 8 at all this time around. I’m not sure if all the other opinions last time influenced me to hate it the first time. Or maybe I’m older and not as… invested anymore?
I kind of enjoyed it. It had its cringy moments but all in all I’m not too disappointed.
Anyone had a similar experience? Or am I just an idiot?

Originally, Daenerys' speech about "breaking the wheel" was supposed to happen in Season 3, in the episode "The Rains of Castamere," in a scene with Barristan. The dialogue was cut and reused in Season 5 in a scene with Dany and Tyrion. This is the dialogue from the scene in the original script

Would you really be satisfied if the story were finished by another author?
My point is that, unlike films, comics, or games, a book is such an intimate, solitary endeavor that, in my view, handing the reins over to someone else effectively turns the result into nothing more than fan fiction. Could Brandon Sanderson write a continuation? Sure. Could Stephen King take a crack at it? Who knows. Maybe I’ll even try my hand at it myself? Perhaps every fantasy writer should give it a try, and then the fans can choose the canonical version?
Regardless of who writes it, it won’t be George R.R. Martin’s story—not least because, at this moment, even he doesn’t know exactly what he wants to tell—nor will it capture his writing style. Then again, perhaps I’m just biased; I’d be curious to hear your thoughts. But as I said, a book is such a deeply personal medium that, for me, changing the author is essentially the same thing as a reboot.

Do we have a rough estimation of how many friends Ser Janos Slynt truly had?
I remember him briefly mentioning that he has so many friends but he never really gave any names. Does anyone know if GRRM ever talked about this in any interviews or any info behind the statement?

House of the Dragon rpg game in the browser!
hey everyone! I hope this post is allowed, if not I will remove it!
l've been working on a browser RPG game called Heirs of the Fire (HOTF) because I really like roleplaying and obviously ASOIAF, and I really could not find a good place on other RPs. We play there for a few months now and would love to get some more people to join in on the story! We are slowly opening to more and more people and seeing how it will affect the world.
I absolutely love playing Crusader Kings III with AGOT mod, so it's a bit like a live persistent version of it in the browser? It's played through short writing in chat scenes and writing raven letters back and forth for political purposes. There are obviously some game mechanics in the background to handle rolls, stats, and logistics so you don't have to keep track of complex math, but it is mainly about roleplaying.
If you’d like to check it out it’s live at: https://hotf.online

If Catelyn wasn't going to allow Jon to attend the feast, why did she have him shaved as well? Is she dumb?

Does dark haired Jaime undermine Ned Stark's theory?
In Season One, Ned Stark's supposed "smoking gun" evidence that Jaime was the true father of Cersei's children relied on their hair color. According to the history books, prior generations of Baratheons had black hair while Cersei's children had fair colored hair. Ned records, "The seed is strong."
So Ned ruled out that the children might just take after their fair-haired mother? And the children must have inherited their light hair color from Jaime instead? At the time, Jaime had the same Lannister dyed-blonde look as Tyrion and Cersei.
Fast forward to Season 8 as pictured. Jaime's hair isn't black but its not light either. Maybe he stopped dying his hair during his captivity. But doesn't a dark haired Jaime undermine Ned's whole hypothesis?
My assumption is that this is just a lazy continuity error by the showrunners apparently forgetting that Jaime's hair was a major plot device in Season One.

Robinhood (2010) has several GOT cast
I just watched Ridley Scott’s Robinhood and saw like 5 cats members from GOT, more than any movie or show I’ve seen w multiple cast members. It was fun seeing so many great actors that I love in GOT play these other characters!
What are other movies or shows have a lot of GOT actors that I should check out?

Best order to read the books in?
I've only just started reading the books.
I finished Game of Thrones a few days ago and today I got A Clash of Kings from the library. Only read the prologue so far. Poor Cressen getting bullied like that.
I'm obviously going to read the main series ASOIAF books in order until I'm up to date. But the other stuff - what order would you recommend for those?

From a Bastard and outcast to King. For someone accused of knowing nothing, he knew it all. Nobody makes it without him. Easily one of the faces of honor, bravery and leadership in modern entertainment
