Welcome to the 2026-27 season on r/DetroitPistons!
We're thrilled to kick off another year of Deee-troit Basketball. We've made some updates to the subreddit rules on the sidebar. For the most part, they haven't changed, just some cleaned-up wording.
However, there will be some tighter enforcement moving forward that we'd like to be transparent about, namely:
>Rule 3: News and Sources
>Link directly to the original source. Screenshots of tweets or articles are not allowed. Use reliable sources for news and rumors. Secondary aggregators may be removed.
>Format news titles as: [Source] Exact tweet or article title. For major news, low-quality or incomplete posts may be removed in favor of a properly sourced and titled thread.
>Limit personal commentary in the post body so discussion can happen in the comments.
During the offseason, Detroit Free Press Pistons beat writer u/omarisankofa-nba reached out to us with concerns about uncredited quotes and media. For the sports writers who provide us with insight and access, it's important to credit their work directly. Sourcing also allows users to gauge the validity of the news or rumors being reported.
We'll be enforcing this rule more strongly moving forward. We prefer to keep the first post about a news item whenever possible, but proper titles and sourcing will take priority.
>Rule 7: Brigading
>Do not brigade other team subreddits.
>Fans of other teams who come here to troll, brigade, or disrupt discussion may be banned. If you see outside brigading, please report it rather than engaging.
Over the last couple of seasons, we've seen a huge uptick in outside fans coming here to disrupt discussions, but also our own fans going to other communities to antagonize. If you see this happening, please report it rather than engaging. It helps us out a lot, and we appreciate it.
New Moderator Applications. As things stand, our community of 274,000 users is moderated by just five individuals. If you're interested in helping take care of the community during this exciting time, please message u/mtommy or the r/DetroitPistons mod team.
We can't wait. Go Pistons!

Duncan Robinson ran up 12 PTS , 3-3 3PT , 3–3 FT , and 2 AST within 4 minutes 🥶 Our offense might be a lot scarier than we realize

and I'm not even a Pistons fan. Ausar is the best wing defender I've ever seen. Pippen and Kawhi are the only people who I can understand arguments for, and I'd even put Ausar above them.

I got mad watching NBA Today, where the topics, in order, were:
Knicks & 76ers, which checks out. Ring night with that guy lurking uncomfortably behind the podium, Ohio-strong LeBron, tasty Knicks loss? Agreed, totally correct.
OKC & Spurs. Excellent rivalry, Wemby, SGA 3 time MVP hype, Chet getting rag dolled? Makes sense.
I was pretty fine being 3rd, I even expected it. New look Tatum-led Celtics, Great American Hope Cade, "Pistons: frauds or legit?"... but I get it.
But it was actually a Heat Timberwolves preview. Then, they analyzed the Miami Heat with Spoelstra. Annoyed, but Ant & Melo is gold, and Giannis is a former MVP in a new home. So... fine.
After commercials, they go Lakers Warriors, and Luka's definitely inspiring message for Lakerland. Triggered, I think of the '04 Pistons and smile. This is tough to accept.
The next topic is a Curry 1-on-1 conversation and analysis of the wounded Warriors, health updates on Moses Moody, Yaxel upside, complete with a tough update that Porzingis is considering retirement due to health. Shams then also reports the Warriors are open to trading him. No shit.
More commercials and then at 46m35s, I get to hear about PG's 38 and Tentative Tatum who I'm told wore PG's shoes once, before finally a Piston mention with a disjointed clusterfuck of misaligned A/V.

Let’s all take a minute to appreciate the joys of trolling Celtics fans.

Hey guys, just wanted to say the game was great but unfortunately while I was at the game,my silver 2010 Toyota Prius went missing from street parking across from elephant and Company on Charlotte Street. so far Detroit Police is saying they don’t have it in their system as an impound, so it leads me to think that it was stolen. So across from elephant and Company there’s a sort of abandoned building and then a building that looks like it has residents in it. There were plenty of cars that park there so I don’t know if anybody has experience with the situation but insight or tips would be helpful.

Okay here is the scenario, I live outside of the broadcast media market for my team, the Pistons and I work nights. I would like to listen to the radio broadcast of the day's game while working. This is something accomplished fairly simply when I use the Major League Baseball app. Is there an equivalent for the NBA? I subscribed to the audio-only NBA app subscription but haven't found what I'm looking for.
