Was trying to find a DS9 box-set online and found this atrocious knock-off attempt đ

Or so they say.
I could hear the clarion call of destiny ringing in my ears.
You will never grow old, and most important you will never die.
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little obsessed.
Just nod if we have a deal.

Lwaxana Troi and Odo - Wish we had one more
I really like the scene where she shuts down her personality, takes off her wig and shows Odo he doesn't have to be embarrassed for who he is.
They share some really sweet moments together and I kind of wish they had one more in the later seasons for him and her to see how he's evolved and is with Kira. It might be bittersweet but you could see Odo telling her he wouldn't have been able to be with Kira if it wasn't for her.
When he has to take the marriage, you know his words were actually from deep down.
She deserved a better ending !

Galway Bay Murders
Stumbled across this lost DS9/Voyager crossover episode where O'Brien and Janeway get trapped in a holonovel. Looks interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S-Ywa_Fc8M

I've just completed the show for the first time since its initial airing.
I had forgotten many of the events, so sometimes it felt like I was watching parts of the show for the first time.
I had forgotten that the Cardassians would switch sides during that final battle in space, and when it happened, I thought, "heck, yeah!"
I have a deeper appreciation of Worf and the Klingons this time around. I remember not liking the idea of Worf being introduced back then, and I didn't like it this time (initially), but I did change my mind quickly.
Jadzia's death didn't do much for me because I knew it was going to happen, but I still wish Sisko had a different fate (I have watched the Starfleet Academy episode).
I've been watching the show while exercising or doing some chore that allows me to look at a screen, and now my exercise/chore time will feel empty.

Why is this show liked so much?
I've just finished Season 1 and I don't really get it,most of the episodes were very uninspired and lacklustre. Character are also pretty mediocre. I was told this was best Trek but im not seeing it yet. I keep hearing it gets better in Season 4 b ut i dont want to spend 3 seasons before this show gets good. Is it not just for me or am i looking at something else?

The second I saw that mustache
I knew he was going to be trouble. Those tricky Cargassians weaving up another web of lies. But a fun episode where we see what lengths their state will go to, and how their accepted system of 'jurisprudence' functions. Definitionally the most kangarooey of courts.

The Emissary
Is Sisko the emissary of the prophets or to the prophets?

How did Worf get away with the Incel move he pulled here and avoid sanctions by the Federation?

DS9 making a reference to the Band of Brothers Book
I was reading the book Band of Brothers and I noticed something interesting. It was mentioned that at the battle of Bastogne, one of the soldiers favorite songs to sing was "I'll Be Seeing You". I thought it was either an interesting reference or coincidence that DS9 might have made to include it in the show as well
To be clear, I am saying that the show DS9 might be referencing the Band of Brothers book, not the book referencing the show, or the DS9 referencing the mini series adaptation of the book.
I just thought this was cool, didn't expect it to be so controversial

Tonightâs DS9 watch list - Duet, The Wire, Hard Time
I love being emotionally devastated by moral quandaries with imperfect answers, what can I say.
Hard Time is actually a big comfort episode for me.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Custom Brickheadz
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Finished the full Deep Space Nine set.
Sisko, Kira, Jadzia, Worf, Bashir, O'Brien, Odo, Quark and Garak, all in BrickHeadz-style.
I tried to give each one something that made them immediately recognisable, so thereâs Siskoâs Niners cap, Jadziaâs bat'leth, Kiraâs raktajino, Worfâs bloodwine, Bashir and O'Brienâs racquetball racquets, Odoâs bucket, Quarkâs latinum and dabo chips, and Garakâs tailoring gear.
Really happy with how they look together as a group.

Colm Meaney just goes with it and finishes the scene. You can see though it was a bit pissed.

The Ferengi are capitalist iff China is capitalist
From all we see, the Ferengi economic model is basically the same as China. They engage in trade with outside powers, and there is some limited free enterprise within the Ferengi alliance, but it's ultimately controlled by a central authority that nationalizes any business that gets too successful. This is exactly Quark was afraid of in the "The Nagus," that he'd been too successful, and Grand Nagus Zek was going to come and buy his bar "for a fraction of what it's worth," and he would have no choice but to give in or be blackballed. That kind of government seizure of private assets does not happen in free markets. The FCA is a central planning authority. They bared Quark from doing any business with any Ferengi basically for pissing them off. Again, that is not how free market capitalism works. We saw in "Ferengi Love Songs" that a lot of Grand Nagus Zek's day to day business is telling the rest of the Ferengi what to invest in, and that if he gives bad advice, markets quickly crash. Again, that is not a free market, that is centrally planned economics. The whole Ferengi alliance is basically one giant corporation with every citizen as an employee, just like China. The Ferengi seem to treat capitalism much like China treats communism or Christians treat the Bible; not actually their governing principles, more a sort of incantation that they pay lipservice to, idealize, and treat as something sacred, but never actually follow in practice.

Badda Bing, Badda Boom
I forget entirely about the existence of this episode. I canât believe we are doing yet another, âthe holodeck is broken and might kill us allâ episode. These things are clearly WAY too dangerous to be using. At least this time they arenât stuck in the holodeck until they do whatever at peril of their lives because the holodeck isnt actually âbroken,â this is a âjack-in-boxâ purposefully built into the program to make things interesting or whatever. I donât think the crew is in any actual danger. The âsafety parameters arent malfunctioningâ or whatever. The danger is to Vic because âif he gets killed in the program his holomatrix disappears forever and they canât just reset the whole program because that would reset his memoryâ or whatever. So I guess itâs a somewhat original premise. Either way the characters cant properly control the holodeck. AGAIN. These things are death traps.
I actually like Vic and the Vegas set. Itâs a silly fun episode and I like how Captain Sisko is off to the side at first like, âI canât believe my entire senior staff is planning a pretend heist from gangsters while the Dominion is at our throats. And to top it all off itâs in racist ass 1962 Las Vegas.â I just canât believe weâre halfway through the seventh season of DS9 with the War with the Dominion reaching its climax and weâre doing a âthe holodeck is malfunctioningâ episode so we can see all the characters in early 60s attire pulling a heist on gangsters and seeing (almost) how far down Ezriâs spots go. That cracks me up.
Oh and Itâs literally the last episode before the start of them sequentially piecing all the last episodes together as one big episode with âlast time on DS9â openings and a coherent ongoing plot with cliffhangers.
Edit: Forgot that they couldnât even leave poor OâBrien alone even this one time in this lighthearted episode as he got strip searched by the casino holo-security. Poor OâBrien.
