I have a good friend who's a woman in her mid 40s. I like to hug my friends and would hug her when I would leave after hanging out, but one day she mentioned how she doesn't like to be hugged or touched. I encouraged her to tell people that and not let her own comfort suffer because she wants to be polite. Now when I see her or say good by, I give her a deep bow of respect instead. I love it!
