Controversial my fuckin nuts, put this on every TV channel and streaming service in the US and play it every ad break on YouTube. No one wants to hug people they just do it because they feel like they should.

And maybe also a PSA about all the aunts that know you don't like hugs and is going to do it anyway but has to give a "I know you don't like hugs so heres some emotional manipulation to make it worse" like we tolerate it from family and you know that.

"No one wants to hug people..."

Normal, well-adjusted people quite enjoy hugs, especially from loved ones.

I don't agree at all with the comment you're replying to saying "no one wants to hug people" - I know that's completely untrue.

But I also don't agree with your response, there are plenty of "normal, well-adjusted people" that don't enjoy hugs, even if it's from loved ones. I'm one of these people, and so are multiple of my friends and colleagues.

Sweeping generalisations are not accurate on either side of this subject. It is not black and white. There is a wide range of preferences and comfort around giving and receiving hugs.

I hate when people will say something like "normal people do this" or I see a lot of "your crazy if you don't like"... a lot of throwing around calling people crazy or weird. It's such a cop out for an actual discussion and puts those who disagree already in a group that shouldn't be listened to.

Nobody "has" to agree with the PSA but they shouldn't then call anyone who disagrees with them "sensitive" or "asshole kids" or not "well-adjusted"...

Thank you for saying this. I was half expecting to be downvoted into oblivion 😬

Fair enough, I could have said "most" or "many." I just find the absolute statement of "no one enjoys hugs" to be really freaking weird. It's so clearly and obviously wrong. I don't know how someone types that out.

Ah yes nothing says normal like telling someone if they don't do it they aren't well-adjusted. Society works best when we make everyone conform.

Are you saying that disliking physical contact is normal? Because I don't know how else to read that.

And unironically yes. If people conform society functions better. You can strawman that if you want but I think it should be self-evident that everyone conforming to central ideas like "murder is bad" and "don't steal" and "everyone should have equal rights" makes for a better society. Don't you?

Lol did you just strawman into a strawman accusation?

Fuckin legend.

I don't murder and steal things because those are bad things to do. Are you saying you don't murder people to conform with society? Straight up psychopath shit bro.

Ah. So objective good and evil exist and as a Good person you inherently just do Good, the society you were raised in has nothing to do with it. Jolly for you, broski.

Well hey, since you've got this locked down can I get some advice? See I'm real worried one day there'll be this trolley and I'll be next to the lever when I notice some people tied to the rails down the way. On the other rail...
