Removing the default parachute has turned DMZ into the opening scene of The Other Guys

Spent years jumping off buildings in DMZ knowing my parachute would be there. Apparently now I need to craft one, which is useful information to remember before leaving the 32nd floor.

Unfortunately, I remembered on the 21st.

Pressed the parachute button about 40 times like I was trying to skip YouTube ads. Nothing. Just me, £18,000 in loot and the rapidly approaching consequences of not reading the patch notes.

My teammate goes, “Aim for the bushes.”

Mate, we’re in a fucking car park.

The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson would’ve been proud. Spectating by the time the Foo Fighters chorus kicked in.

Spare a thought for the lads who spent years terrorising everyone on Ashika Island aim botting.

The rest of us have moved on to MW4 DMZ, and they’re still underneath an apartment block clutching a semi-auto Lachmann-762 with a laser sight, waiting for someone with employment to walk past.

Now it’s just six blokes under the map, aimbots locked onto each other, reporting one another for cheating.

Imagine spending years perfecting the art of living inside concrete, only to discover your entire player base has moved on.

All those hours of training. All that dedication. Absolutely nowhere to go.

Enjoy the ranked basement league, gentlemen. You’ve finally found opponents of equal skill.

Casually lost 2 hours of making cash from this. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it is very dumb.

I actually lost roughly 150k in total, as I changed my camo for the AK to a military camo, and noticed my money going down. I suspected it was the camo change since I didn't remember buying anything, so I decided to test it for real while recording.

Day one, it’s completely fine. People don’t know where any of the missions are.

Day two, squad camping the roof waiting for the extract for the gurney, people waiting at the casino for people to go to it, people waiting near the power plant to catch people as they try to boat away

Having story missions be in live games is flawed

First of all, Infinity Ward, DMZ is a slam dunk. The tension, AI population, and world all feel great to be in and I’ve only done Free Roam solo.

Now for my story time…

I just completed an LT scan and I’m headed to collect the bounty. Trying to keep it smooth and silent, I realize that there’s a UAV tower that can give me a better understanding of the force I’m dealing with. Hit the UAV tower, pop a couple of heads (bang bang) but realize the error in my ways because now the spot is getting hot.

So I’m hunkered down on the second floor, letting the UAV ping go off and getting my bearings, until my UAV spots another player. Now, the game changes.

The player turns on his mic and of course calls out for me. I don’t respond. Then he turns on the UAV tower in the same building as me. Now I have a choice of either taking him out or going out separate ways.

He opens the door to the room I’m in, I spray him down, and as I’m about to finish him off, he says that he was looking for me so we could do the LT bounty together… I think it’s a coincidence and I agree.

Now we’re clearing floors with me taking point and we’re flowing through, smooth as shea butter, until an animation plays out behind me. “Sorry man” is the last thing I hear as the execution animation finishes and he kills me.

I just want to apologize because after that, I’m definitely not playing sweet with anyone.

Free weapons, armour and backpack without having gear FOMO

Use one of your operators as a pack mule. Put a backpack on him then load that up with keys or whatever you want and you'll save a ton of space

Having a blast with the new DMZ, really feel like IW nailed it here. There's a few things that need changing imo, some loot needs to be easier to find but overall it's fantastic.

Hajin is an absolute triumph, wasn't a massive fan of any of the maps after verdansk but this is top tier. The sheer depth of stuff to explore and find is incredible. Managed to find my way into the sewers earlier and a long tunnel which conveniently took me most of the way to extract in safety

Solo Player - Literally just spent a couple hours farming materials to have the server disconnect - wipe my entire haul and character - Do they not have some sort of protection in place for this sort of thing ?

lowkey shit like that irritates me so much, i don’t mind dying to other players, but losing all your gear because of a server crash is BS

Why would they not have some sort of protection like that setup prior to launch;

Knowing that it’s a possibility for this to likely happen again makes me not want to grind at all

double tab the slide/crouch button when jump down from great height, your character will do combat roll and mitigate some fall damage

I'm a Beta vet of the last four years and I Had my first friendly encounter in the new DMZ today.

Almost off a rip a squad attacked one of my random teammates and dropped him. I killed the guy who killed him, then he had two teammates come up yelling "friendly" a word I hadn't heard for years. They apologized for their trigger happy friend. We let each other pick up our downed guys then they sent something called a truce. The truce allows you to work on objectives together with another squad. Not adding you to their team, but keeps you visible to the other squad with a white flag over your head. The truce circle is about 250m wide and once you leave it the truce is broken.

It's kind of a neat feature. Might be helpful in the future if there's some need for opposing squads to work together. Has anyone else had experience with this? I'm curious to know the stories. I've been trying to keep up with DMZ news but this is one I didn't hear about. There's a lot to u pack with the new game.

COD actually managed to make an extraction shooter that gives me the same kind of feeling I get from Tarkov.

I went into a solo run with a cheap $5k weapon and decided to spend another $15k on a suppressor because I had a specific mission in mind. I had found a legendary key to a luxury suite in Hotel Lucera, located in one of the most dangerous areas if im correct

I carefully made my way there, avoiding enemies whenever possible and silently taking out a few NPCs along the way.

When I finally reached the hotel, I realized I needed another key just to enter the building. But no man… I wasn’t ready to give up, so I searched around and found a balcony I could climb onto.

From there, I slowly worked my way up through the hotel, quietly eliminating NPCs until I finally reached the suite on the top floor.

And the loot was absolutely worth it: two valuable weapons and an Ultra blueprint for a regenerating 3-plate armor vest 😁

My stealth mission suddenly turned into a desperate escape. I had to fight my way back down, sprint out of the hotel, find a car, and race to extraction before the radiation killed me.

Somehow, I made it out alive with everything.
Probably the most intense and rewarding solo run I’ve had so far. 😂

Having fun with this so far and beside dealing with exfil campers its been great. Some quick observations coming from DMZ Beta and Arc

1) Let us 'commit' resources to an upgrade in the 3d printer. Stash space is tight early on and being able to commit resources would give just a little extra wiggle room while remaining thoughtful.

2) It would be great to be able to share stash items with squad mates in the FOB. I know we can infil, drop then exfil, and I guess there's probably a case to be made for that driving risk or something, but again its just needlessly finicky.

3) Can we please view the map in the FOB? Again, could I have it up on a second screen, sure, but it would be good to be able to chat and plan with squad mates in the FOB. Bonus point - it would be cool if we could draw on the map for planning purposes.

In my last 4 games I got killed twice (at the times I had the best loot yet) while going for the exfill. Those were the only times I saw other operators btw…

Does somebody have tips how to exfill save?
