i started keeping a little log of what i was asking it and then looking for patterns. the stuff that really jumped out was how often i’d ask it to rephrase work emails i was overthinking. realized i was spending more time polishing tone than the actual message, so now i try to bang out a draft in 2 minutes and only loop it in if i'm really stuck. cut my daily prompts in half.
coding wise, i noticed i’d lean on it for stuff i actually knew how to do but was too lazy to look up. that’s a trap. started forcing myself to write it from scratch first, then use it as a reviewer, and my recall got noticeably sharper within a few weeks.
also worth tracking how much you’re using it for decisions you should probably make yourself. caught myself asking it what to make for dinner like three times last month and that felt like a wake up call. it's a tool, not a co-pilot for my entire personality.

Track outcomes, not usage. Once a week, ask: did it actually save me time, did I verify the important stuff, and would I do it the same way again? The prompts that keep winning become templates. The ones that just polish an email I'd already written get cut — that's usually where the time leaks.
