I built a free directory of attorneys, CPAs and advisors who actually understand self-custody
I kept running into the same problem: most estate attorneys and CPAs don't know what a seed phrase or multisig is, and finding one who does is mostly luck.
So I built BitcoinProFinder, a free directory of professionals and companies that publicly say they work with Bitcoin holders. Right now it has 90 listings across 15 categories: estate attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, custody and inheritance tools, insurance, mining hosting and more. Every listing links to its public source so you can check it yourself.
What it is not: it's not an endorsement, there are no referral fees, and it's not advice. Always verify credentials before hiring anyone.
Two asks:
- If you've worked with a Bitcoin-literate attorney or CPA you'd recommend, tell me who and I'll check them out.
- If you're a pro who serves Bitcoiners, you can submit or claim a free listing.
Disclosure: I'm the one who built and runs it.

Twice in history a satoshi and a cent were equally scarce. It will never happen again.
Nov 2012: sats overtook cents. Aug 2020: the printer went brrr and took it back.
Since then, M2 kept running ~6% a year. New BTC supply? 0.8%, and it halves every 4 years. By late 2021 there were already more cents in M2 than sats will ever exist.
They can print cents. Nobody can print sats. Tick tock, next block. No more humble, stack sats.

What happens to bitcoin if miners become data centers?
I keep reading about how bitcoin miners are just turning into data centers for hyperscalers, what happens to btc then? Doesn't the network require miners to maintain it's security?
Also how come the price of btc is going up when the market has been shody lately?

I mapped every Satoshi Nakamoto statue on Earth, with a passport you can stamp when you visit
I kept seeing photos of the "disappearing" Satoshi statues and couldn't find one place that listed them all, so I built one: https://www.satoshistatues.com
What's on it:
- A map of all 12 known statues (Lugano, Budapest, Vienna, Tokyo, Hong Kong, El Zonte, Miami and more), with photos, exact locations and current status
- Trip guides for each one: how to get there, best time to visit, what's nearby
- A passport: check in when you're actually at a statue and collect stamps (there's a printable version too)
- A leaderboard for people who've visited the most
- Upcoming Bitcoin events near each statue
No sign-up, no ads, no tracking cookies.
If you've visited one, I'd love a photo for the site, and corrections are very welcome. Some of these are hard to pin down (Lugano's current status, for example). Anyone here been to more than one?

I’ve been thinking about what success would really mean for Bitcoin
The more I learn about Bitcoin, the more I wonder what success really means for it.
Is it about more people using it for everyday payments, more businesses accepting it, or simply creating a financial system that doesn’t depend on trusting a central authority?

Looking for a simple all-in-one net worth tracker (crypto, ETFs, cash, real estate)
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a clean, simple net worth tracker that lets me see my entire financial picture in one place.
Ideally, it would support:
- Crypto: manual transactions or exchange/wallet sync, similar to Koinly.
- ETFs and stocks: holdings, purchase dates, cost basis and performance.
- Cash and savings
- Real estate and other assets
- Historical net worth chart: ideally going back to the date of my first transaction, including transactions entered manually after the fact.
- Overall portfolio performance: separating actual gains/losses from money I've added over time.
I'm happy to enter historical transactions manually if needed. Automatic syncing is a bonus, not a requirement.
I'd prefer something with a clean interface, easy setup and a reasonable price. I don't need budgeting features or a complicated financial planning platform.
What are you using that does this well? Ideally something with a free or affordable basic plan.
Thanks!

What's the dumbest way you've lost bitcoin? Not hacks, just you vs. yourself
wrong address, wrong network, seed phrase "safely" stored in a file called seed_phrase.txt, sold at the bottom and bought back 10 minutes later. what's yours? the more painful the better, so the rest of us can learn without paying for it.

Self-hosting the mempool explorer? Its backend image still bundles Node 24.13.0, from before the Oct 20 Node security release
Node.js put out security releases on October 20 (24.22.1 for the 24.x line): https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/october-2026-security-releases
The published mempool backend images (mempool/backend v3.3.1 and latest, both from April) still bundle Node 24.13.0. There's a PR upstream to bump it, but it's waiting on the maintainers, and no rebuilt image is out yet.
To check yours:
docker exec <backend-container> node -v
If your node platform packages the mempool app for you, it may already ship its own build, so check before changing anything.
If it says v24.13.0 and you build your own stack, this is what we're running until upstream ships a fix:
FROM node:24.22.1-bookworm-slim AS node
FROM mempool/backend:v3.3.1
COPY --from=node /usr/local/bin/node /usr/bin/node
Same Debian 12 base and the same native-module ABI, so the backend's Rust addon loads fine. Build it, point your compose file at the new image, and restart only the backend. It's been running normally on our instance since the 21st.

Bitcoin, AI, and trying to survive as a freelancer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been following Bitcoin for a while, and one thing I like about it is the idea of having more control over your own money without depending entirely on traditional systems.
But lately, I've been thinking about another kind of financial independence: being able to make a living from your own skills.
I'm a freelance creator and developer working on 2D animation, apps, games, and websites. Things have gotten pretty tough lately. AI tools are getting better every day, and it's becoming harder to compete and find clients when so much work can now be generated automatically.
I'm not against AI, but honestly, it feels like some of the work I've spent years learning is slowly disappearing.
I'm still trying to adapt, improve my skills, and find people who value human creativity and custom-built products.
Anyway, I'm curious how other people here see this. Do you think Bitcoin and the broader crypto ecosystem could create more opportunities for independent creators and freelancers, or will AI make it harder for small independent workers to survive?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Anyone else have XBCI?
I’ve been stacking it since it came out. The 40% yearly dividend paid monthly has been great. I’m loving it for my bitcoin exposure. Super tax efficient too

Bitcoin’s 21 Million Limit Doesn’t Enforce Itself. A Bitcoin model matched Core across 100,000 test executions. The gap that remains reveals what it really takes to protect Bitcoin’s most important promise.
