AITA for refusing to let my aunt decide what happens to the furniture I bought for our shared house?

I live with my dad and aunt while saving money to move out. We split some household expenses, but we each buy our own personal things

Last month I bought a nice armchair for the living room with my own money. My aunt said she loved it, so I didnt think much of it

Yesterday I came home and found she'd given it to her daughter to take to her new apartment. When I asked why she didn't tell me, she said it was just a chair and her daughter needed furniture more than I did

I told her she had no right to give away something she didnt pay for. She said I was selfish because I still have a bed and a sofa to sit on

My dad thinks I should let it go to avoid turning the house into a battleground, but I feel like everyone is ignoring the fact that it was mine

I asked my aunt to get it back and now she's acting like I've insulted her daughter

AITA for making a big deal out of a chair I paid for myself?

I don’t even know if this is a real post because it’s so ridiculous but obviously you are NOT THE AHOLE.

She better bring it back or I’d call the cops to give her a good scare. You have the receipt and taking it is straight up theft.

Find a copy of the invoice for the chair and send it to your cousin and tell her she can either reimburse you or return the chair, and if she doesn't it will be reported as stolen. People cannot be in receipt of stolen property without consequences, and I doubt she wants to deal with the police.

NTA

If you give a mouse a cookie, its going to want a glass of milk.

Op, if you let this go, you’re letting her know that it okay to take things that don’t belong to her and that she won’t face any consequences for doing it.

Tell her to have your chair returned to you by Friday , or you’ll contact the police about th theft.

It doesn’t matter if you have 100 chairs to sit on , YOU bought that one, and she had no right to give away property that doesn’t belong to her.
