Addon Release / Update Social Diary: I created an Addon that automatically creates a social history of everyone you meet & what you experienced with them.

Hey guys. In Vanilla and Classic I really loved that social aspect of the game where you run into someone time and time again on your way to 60. Sometimes you do connect the dots when they join your dungeon group, but propably often enough you dont.

Over time, there came out some addons that helped with that, namely VanasKOS (Kill on Sight), which allowed you to put noted on players and get notified if they are detected. This mainly was for world PvP purposes, but I used it for friendly players as well.

Now with Forever approaching, I decided to tackle this idea myself:

I wanted to create an addon that allows you to look into a social history with each player you add to your diary, see where you've met them first, see what you spoke about, see what you did together etc. etc.

"Social Diary" does exactly that and honestly quite a bit more.

There are lots of addons popping up right now, but they all kinda just throw numbers and graphs at your screen. I really dont find this satisfying at all. A Diary is a highly personal record about experiences and I wanted to do this justice. Because of that, I a) tried making the UI as beautiful & skeumorphic as possible, and b) detect actual meaningful interactions, instead of displaying raw numbers. I dont care about how many mobs I killed, but care about finding my first shoulders or my first blue item, for example.

AI Disclaimer: I developed this addon with help of AI. I routinely check for security and performance issues myself. Currently, the Addon uses up to 0.1% CPU inside of a city.

Im really interested in your thoughts in this. I currently test it, but it already works really well.

Ok Palantir

u/captainkaba 8d ago

the addon's data is fully local. :)

9

u/r4rthrowawaysoon 8d ago

I had thought about this idea but with a shared amongst trusted community.

So healers and tanks could straight up avoid certain types of people and prevent the worst of the A holes from finding successful groups. Very control heavy.

9

u/captainkaba 8d ago

yeah it sounds good on paper but I wont touch that with a ten foot stick lol

1

u/juicydownunder 6d ago

lol only tanks and healers?

2

u/Few-Promotion-7829 6d ago

The aristocracy of course

-2

u/Patient-Definition96 7d ago

That would be so boring

16

u/js-username 8d ago

I actually cackled IRL at this. Like hard laugh.

6

u/Critical-Cost-5598 8d ago

Lmaoo, honestly such a great comment.

4

u/Unlucky_Photo_599 8d ago

Great idea, get this addon and set up alts everywhere to track everyone at all times.

30

u/Varaben 8d ago

I know this is heavily AI driven, and that might be annoying or whatever to people, but I find this addon at least in theory incredibly cool. I hope it works as intended and continues to work. It would be really cool to go back in a year and see random highlights and memories.

5

u/donutdong 8d ago

Lore forever looks really good also if u like this one

2

u/xoxLVxox 8d ago

I agree. Love the concept. And secondly, appreciate OP's forthcoming in use of help with it. I'll still hold off, but conceptually, I'm a momento/keepsake and memory hoarded for things like this.

20 years later, I still keep Essence of Eranikus on me. And the friends I made with it... too.

Flock Azeroth database ass addon

1

u/Rough_Instruction112 7d ago

Could be fun to make a flock azeroth addon whose only purpose is to record time and place of every player encountered and then upload to a data base. Absolutely zero purpose except to talk about the flock shit.

You get bonus points for hanging around pools, women's gyms, and children's playgrounds and children's pools and children's gymnastics and children's locker rooms.

3

u/Some_Current1841 7d ago

Someone could make a bunch of alts everywhere and have them track people lol

9

u/LilyLockwell 8d ago

This looks absolutely stunning presentation wise - I am curious about how well it works in practise. Because I don't have an opportunity to test it at the moment, is there any parts of it you think it currently lacks in, or scenarios it gets confused by? With the amount of raw people we might see at WoW Forever launch, I imagine it's going to be put through its paces.

6

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Detecting memorable moments works generally fine. In my playtesting, every level got depicted well in the diary.

Where the challenge lies is deciding on which detected event gets printed into the diary. I use a sort of tiered approach to it. For example, getting your first epic is hier tier than e.g. getting killed by some mob. But if the mob was an elite, the tier moves up.

There are also technical limitations, that limit the event detection. Many things only work if you are grouped up. Else you cannot access some other people's data (which is fair i guess, lol).

2

u/Adventurous-Sail-354 8d ago

What flags the interactions as memorable? What if I just happen to be near a bunch of people. Do we need to group up, or whisper each other? If someone just /says "ty" if you let them get a node or something, does that work? Just curious generally about how it functions.

2

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Correct. There are two modes: Strangers and players inside your diary. Strangers are only very rudamentarily tracked: Position and level. Only once you interact with them directly, the addon starts to track them concretely (trading, whispering, grouping up, ...).

Random strangers also get a cooldown so you dont track them all the time.

u/diago_lunaes 8d ago

I’ve seen a lot of addons lately for wow forever, but this is actually the first one that I’d consider installing

4

u/Lynceawa 8d ago

Jeez I WISH Blizzard purposed that kind of bonus mechanics with the option to enable/disable them Even if I'm not fond of the AI era, I must admit your addon clearly reinforce the human and social aspect of the game. GG 🔥

8

u/LegolandoBloom 8d ago

Thank you for the AI disclaimer. So many people lately trying to hide it

7

u/MasterOfTime14 8d ago

I mean who even codes anything without ai assistance these days? It's a tool and when it's used properly it can give amazing results so for now maybe the disclaimer is fine because some people are still allergic to the word but in general it's unnecessary.

3

u/keyboardturn 8d ago

I do, and I've been making addons for around 9-ish years without it. Dragon Rider, Remix Artifact Tracker, a few HandyNotes plugins, Item Upgrade Quality Icons, Lorekeeper, Token Transmogs, Housing Music and so on are all done without AI. My stuff tends to work better anyway.

2

u/LegolandoBloom 7d ago

Yare yare daze :)

2

u/ZardozZod 8d ago

It’s more like AI codes with human “assistance,” which appropriately makes them tools.

1

u/LegolandoBloom 8d ago

I do, and so do many veteran addon developers I've talked to.

3

u/superanonguy321 8d ago

I respect that but for your own sake I hope you decide to learn. Right now your value is safe but when ai driven engineers who care and understand just as much about systems as you do, that equation will shift out of your favor.

1

u/LegolandoBloom 7d ago

Decide to learn? Talking to a chatbot in plain English is not a legitimate skill. LLMs are intuitive and easy to use by design.

As they are now, they are the easier route. One that doesn't promote learning, ironically.

1

u/superanonguy321 7d ago

Spoken like a guy who doesn't use em. I fully understand why that seems like it would be true - but with everything there are layers. My ai has its own computer. It has far more capabilities than most as a result. In fact, I almost never use the chat.

Additionally doesn't promote learning really depends on your use. Ive never learned so fast as I have using LLMs because I wont put anything in production that I couldnt do by hand and ai helps me always to expand and do things that are just out of reach, thus, I learn faster.

1

u/LegolandoBloom 7d ago

> Spoken like a guy who doesn't use em.
You're mostly right. My experience with them are from casual and brief experimentation and things I've heard from developer friends who do use them - perhaps it is them who use them wrong, as you say

But you'll likely believe me when I say that most of these AI addons out there aren't made by tech enthusiasts and AI connoisseurs. Most of them ARE the product of lazy offloading of work and learning to the chat function of LLMs, hastily put together by opportunists.

1

u/superanonguy321 7d ago

Oh yeah thats true. But I mean... take a large sample size of people and "most dont do it right" or "most are lazy" or "most allow the tech to make them dumb" is true anywhere. Like, cell phones, lol. They dont inherently make people dumb but they probably contribute to being dumb for most users lol. My smart phone promotes learning. Not true for every one lol

1

u/Validated_Owl 6d ago

If you were handed a block of code and told to troubleshoot 2 bugs and optimize the code to a set of acceptable standards..... Could you do it without AI?

If not then you haven't learned shit and AI is doingit all for you.

0

u/theberrymelon 6d ago

Hi I’m a software engineer who heavily uses Agents to code and if you think it’s not a legitimate skill good luck in the next couple of months

1

u/LegolandoBloom 5d ago

good luck keeping yourself

0

u/Tiltinnitus 8d ago

You're a minority.

0

u/Gexm13 8d ago

lol if u think so

2

u/Bitter_Election_7518 8d ago

He really is though

2

u/Tiltinnitus 7d ago

I know so.

I work multiple senior software engineering jobs.

Everyone is using AI to close out their tickets faster and reviewing the output before making PRs.

1

u/Gexm13 7d ago

Nvm I thought the you were agreeing with the commenter above. I’m dumb.

-2

u/orimira 8d ago

Gross

2

u/JustJit_ 8d ago

What part is gross? Genuinely curious

2

u/LegolandoBloom 8d ago

Sounds like someone who is shameful about their overreliance on LLMs

0

u/chaotic910 8d ago

An over reliance is as bad as an under reliance. It says a lot if you’re not able to effectively make use of Ai tools.

1

u/LegolandoBloom 7d ago

Mine is not a case of avoiding it because I don't like the process. It It's a hard-line stance.

1

u/chaotic910 7d ago

It’s an inability to effectively use it, has nothing to do with you liking it. Pretty weird to take a hard-line stance against a tool lol

1

u/LegolandoBloom 7d ago

It's amazing you can magically detect that "it had nothing to do with me liking it" and that "it's an inability to effectively use it" - you sure know a great deal about me. Did an LLM tell you these?

1

u/chaotic910 7d ago

Only someone who doesn’t know how to use one wouldn’t use it lol. It’s not the deep bro

0

u/Kyderra 8d ago

people are still allergic to the word but in general it's unnecessary.

I highly disagree,

The scale of how much a person can use AI is so wildly different per project, in some cases it might as well be a assets flip. The best way to know the quality of something is when it's disclosed where AI was used.

When a person doesn't, it's generally a red flag that they are incompetent in coding and are hiding it on purpose.

1

u/ApocalypseDanni 7d ago

and if they are incompetent at coding, its good that theyre using a tool that makes their stuff better. its the same as writing code in notepad instead of using an ide. yeah, you can do it, but why Would you?

1

u/TheShadowX 7d ago

it's not, it's like asking someone on fiverr to do it for you, not understanding any of it and then clamining "I built ..."

people who rely on ai like this cannot write it in notepad or any ide because they can't code

1

u/LegolandoBloom 7d ago

It is a great way to guarantee they *won't* improve

3

u/Silly-Public2098 8d ago

lLoved the idea, dont mind these AI haters, the same happened when i posted about my addon lorever, the haters just can't evolve in life! Deffinitly going to try it, i would love to record the amusing experiences and names of everyone that has been a blast even if just for a brief moment.

I didnt tested it yet, but i hope there is a seach bar to look for a players name right? it should create profound user profiles of everyone, using everything that everyone says on a guild chat or party, that would be sick!
contact me if you want support of any kind :)

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Thanks for the kind words :) yeah there’s a fuzzy search function that searches all metadata. If you try it, feel free to hit me with your critique!

1

u/NZ_Troll 8d ago

Just gotta ignore the haters. True of creating anything in life.

Insecure people have found an easy way to throw punches at others trying to share new ideas and create experiences.

People making wow addons are doing it for the love of the game. We need more of it.

1

u/NZ_Troll 8d ago

Ohh, and the idea is freaking cool OP. It’s not easy getting the last 20% of the polish, but you are onto something amazing here

2

u/Future_Dirt_4690 8d ago

This looks sick, hopefully I can use this as a reminder of what I did if I end up not getting time to play a lot

2

u/thinkconverse 8d ago

I would totally download this. But it would just be empty the whole time lol.

2

u/Kirarozu80 8d ago

Pour one out for Tester Testerson.

2

u/Scoobelidoop 8d ago

What counts as an interaction, and what gets saved?

I'm just worried that if I run into 100 players, it'll log an event (and space) for each one

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

If you haven’t added the player to your diary, the addon only tracks date position and level for strangers.

Interactions are all direct interactions the game allows: trading, whispering, grouping, duelling, fighting, …

2

u/Scoobelidoop 8d ago

Oh sick! That's cool, I'll check it out then

2

u/nedlinin 8d ago

"Turn on nameplates in the settings! Else the addon can't see who's around!" How important is this? Obviously its in bold so I assume it matters but I personally hate friendly nameplates being on.

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Quite a few things wont work, such as getting notified if they are nearby. But once they are in your party, it largely does not matter.

Its a technical limitation sadly.

1

u/Kiwi_lad_bot 8d ago

If I use a plate addon that shows a friendly players name but hides their health bar it should still work?

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

yes, should work fine no problem!

2

u/laylo04 7d ago

gonna give a try right now. installing via curseforge v1.5.0

2

u/KittyKupo 7d ago

I've been using this addon today, I really like it! The intro thing was really nice too, thank you :)

2

u/vidyabot 7d ago

I probably won't use it but thank you for making me consider journaling my forever journey. Don't know why i hadn't thought of doing that.

2

u/Aehan 6d ago

I really like the idea. Might try it out once I've played Forever for a while "blind". Good luck shipping!

2

u/rootsnattydread 6d ago

Haha, i also have a character called horrible man

2

u/rootsnattydread 6d ago

Wait i also died to hogs in the same spot... But this was like a month ago.. hmmm

2

u/Luckdragon_7 4d ago

I kind of liked it at first, but now it feels like you're just a unit processing data from a document infront of you. Nothing is real anymore, not even your experiences, not even connections, you do not need to bother to remember anyone or forget anyone. The document infront of you tells you this is your friend and thus you should act friendly.

Pretty dystopian.

1

u/ShutterFI 8d ago

Hey, I like this. I think it looks and will be amazing to use, going to give it a try in forever. Thanks

1

u/Stodgeybear 8d ago

Looks cool

1

u/4585_ 8d ago

Looks cool af

1

u/mnttu 8d ago

I don’t get how this can create entries for people. In the example there is whispers a d then “promised to help…” where is all this data coming from?

Same with the painted arm bands is that just automatically generated for any item quest?

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

The "promised to help" is a user-made note. It obviously helps when you use that, but the other data is simply derived from gameplay logs.

For the quest items, the addon tracks how many quest mobs were killed vs. how many quest items were looted and then it calculates wether you got lucky or unlucky. This does have some edge cases though but generally it works fine.

1

u/js-username 8d ago

How is it generating the text in the journal? A lightweight open model?

2

u/captainkaba 8d ago

No, the addon computes it by gameplay logs. The other ones (e.g. "promised to help with..") are user-made notes.

1

u/obsidian-24 8d ago

I love this concept honestly

1

u/Azsune 8d ago

How big is the file it saves? Does the addon get slower when it starts to fill up, say from playing for a month straight farming dungeons with tons of different players?

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Its currently too early to tell. I already implemented data limits and data retention cycles because I too think a proper lv 60 char could amass quite a bit of data.

On my lv 11 7h played char, the save file sits on 4mb. most of it is ephemeral data from strangers passing by.

1

u/LimeMargarita 8d ago

The graphics are gorgeous! So this is like a player notes addon, but the addon does the work for you? I love it!

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Yes, precisely! :)

1

u/onnUK 8d ago

Thank you downloading rignt now. I am amazed the spectrum of addons on wow (coming from ESO)

1

u/natron81 8d ago

I gotta ask, and this seems really cool.. I also used VanasKOS for both enemies and friendlies making little notes about them.., But, do you know how to program/script at all? Or was this entirely vibe-coded. It's not a judgement, it's a question of safety when downloading a third-party addon/program.

1

u/Infinite_Zebra6271 8d ago

Wow, this looks really nice. Thanks!

1

u/Former-Store-695 8d ago

Congrats, bro, you’ve actually put Forever in WoW Forever

1

u/crystaldworf 8d ago

Interesting I'll have to see how this plays out in the future

1

u/pwnjack 8d ago

Man, addons are getting absolutely wild. People can criticize AI all they want, but you can’t deny how much it’s empowering people to bring their ideas to life. Forever is gonna be packed with incredible addons, and honestly, I’m all here for it.

1

u/Slightly-Drunk 8d ago

Flock addon

1

u/DrShago 8d ago

As RP player i love it!

1

u/DrShago 8d ago

Can I add screenshots? Group pictures from the dream team

1

u/Tough-Requirement707 8d ago

you guys dont know how much you help the botters with things like this

1

u/ExcitedGuillotine 8d ago

this is genuinely super cool, i love it

1

u/Poobeast241 8d ago

Pretty cool

1

u/lotheren 8d ago

Looks great. I usually forget peoples names and such, this will be really helpful.

1

u/H75311 8d ago

The UX here looks phenomenal. I don't see any in-game screenshots, though? Could someone share some?

OP, I'm curious how does the event classification work? Eg. how is a good experience distinguished from a bad one?

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Those are actual in game screens :)

Im not quite sure what you mean with good and bad experience. Events are all „unbiased“, it’s just the content that brings emotions. Being griefed 3 times in a row is obviously a bad experience, but the addon doesn’t „frame“ it that way

1

u/Lord-Vivec 8d ago

Going to test this over this week, like the idea!

1

u/Exciting-Garbage8552 8d ago

great idea, i would love to try it out when Forever is live

1

u/Gmacadoches 8d ago

SO FUCKING RAD

1

u/wickeralpha 8d ago

This is awesome.

1

u/Estxsc 8d ago

Pretty cool. Downloaded to test. Not sure if it's my monitor resolution but some of the text and art is pixelated.

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Thanks for the feedback, what exactly looks pixelated? Could you paste a screen shot here maybe?

1

u/BlackDuckFace 8d ago

I heard from Reddit that AI is bad and fascist

1

u/Pristine_Koala_7439 8d ago

1

u/Ajanssen89 8d ago

“A hunter watched me die a slow death as I got white hit. He didn’t walk away, he just watched me die.”

1

u/Advanced_Ad1235 8d ago

Why does everyones post about the vibecoded addon they make read almost entirely the same. It just feels so bot like.

2

u/captainkaba 8d ago

I wrote it myself :(

1

u/Melqart310 8d ago

Very cool concept!

1

u/Stelio1 8d ago

Does this create any lag?

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

No, macos and windows run fine. the addon takes up up to 0.1% CPU so its really nothing.

1

u/imaginaryjeremy 8d ago

Very cool concept!

1

u/Bryciclee 8d ago

Does it keep track of enemies like gankers people you kill a lot or beat or lose to in duels regularly, run into in battlegrounds, etc? Cool addon will keep an eye on it.

1

u/Qinax 8d ago

Innteresting

1

u/Lorithias 8d ago

I wish I had this addon on my vanilla character 👏

1

u/madstcla 8d ago

Very cool!! Plans for WoW Forever??

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

this is wowforever only!

2

u/madstcla 8d ago

Ah sorry. Read Vanilla and Classic and assumed it was that

1

u/Clean-Opening-2884 8d ago

Very cool idea

1

u/Zinx23 8d ago

This is fucking awesome hahaha

1

u/Comparez 8d ago

This is great! before I was using rememberme where you just comment about that character. Would use for sure.

1

u/MagnusKitus 8d ago

Looks cool

1

u/Kaisendon_c 8d ago

Oh my… my social life is already lonely. Now you want me to realize my cyber life is lonely too?! 😂

1

u/KittyKupo 8d ago

This sounds really cool! I was actually thinking of keeping a journal of players I meet because it would be fun. I’ll try this addon too!

My biggest worry about using an addon like this is that the developer will forget about updating it and it’ll eventually be useless and my saved info gone

1

u/fpsachaonpc 8d ago

This is really cool man

2

u/fauxsilver 8d ago

Heyso what happens if they end up getting wiped because of patch errors? Will there be a back up database available or will we just have to manually create back ups?

1

u/ReadOnePiece56 8d ago

why is this entire sub vibecoded bullshit, I don't want this shit recommended to me lmfao

2

u/Background_Help325 8d ago

May have to check this one out too.

1

u/laconix31337 8d ago

I dont need this. the memory of grouping up with people, having fun, and adding them to my friend list is Plenty... is this for people with bad memory?

1

u/PureRely 8d ago

It seems like a lot of people are creating these types of add-ons lately. Is this like the common suggestion that AI is given when you ask them what type of add-on you should create? The design language of these add-ons are very clearly AI inspired so I know a lot of them are coming out of AI usage.

1

u/Mrsose 7d ago

jaja es genial

1

u/ausmomo 7d ago

Holy cow, that looks amazing

1

u/neaveeh 7d ago

I'm going to have so many damn add-ons in Forever. This is ridiculous but I'm definitely downloading this one

1

u/SnooCrickets8668 7d ago

Great idea, will def. check it out!

1

u/BumpOfKitten 7d ago

Can you please post a video leveling up with this addon? Sound a bit fake no offense, I will believe it when I see it in video

1

u/Greenbudson 7d ago

That looks stunningly beautiful

1

u/TakkoAM 7d ago

Like a flock camera but for wow LMAO - nah but for real, this is awesome

1

u/SnoopyGue 7d ago

hoffentlich auch in anderen Sprachen !!!

1

u/reverento 7d ago

Looks amazing. And the fact that you used AI is not a problem. But the first thing I wanted to ask is for deep reviews of performance hit, memory leaks, storage limits, and network/chat congestion. If your addon shares data over chat channels, worth knowing that chat addons like Prat and Chatter parse them to handle html links, and that may result in heavy fps drop.

P.S. Asking other AIs for red team review could help finding unexpected side-effects.

1

u/Nulaftw 7d ago

Anyway to export the diary contents, eg. to plaintext?

1

u/HappyGnome727 7d ago

This is cool

1

u/deterdetdeterja 7d ago

i've seen a dozen WIP addons over the past month, but this one is legitimately cool. You should complete this. It's very fitting for what wow forever is trying to do

1

u/Kamay1770 7d ago

If you close the book this doesn't work as a book.... Can you fix it, it looks silly.

1

u/Easy-Amoeba4596 7d ago

I love it! Forever is going to be so much fun with this.

1

u/elcoco13 7d ago

I always wanted an addon that will mark people (black list/white list) amd carry the mark throughout the world(mark o ly visible to you)

You make a note of why they are black listed and you see the note when you click on them.

"This guy ninja'd an item in deadmines"

Or things like that. Then when you are 60 and looking for ppl, you know not to invite him

1

u/Limp_Location2010 6d ago edited 6d ago

I know that the add-on "spy" can do similar function for PvP by adding people to a kill on sight list, maybe it could be modified to work for friendlies too... Haven't used it in forever though maybe there's an add-on already for what you're describing

Edit: try Repkeeper or ReputationList

1

u/_jardaran 6d ago

Bro this looks dope, will be downloading later for sure.

1

u/Dakrturi 6d ago

Is this for retail ? Or Forever? Please say Retail

1

u/captainkaba 6d ago

sorry, forever only right now. The addon requires heavy tuning for all interactions possible, and retail just has sooo many different ones I all would need to integrate. Maybe someone else ports it to retail further down the road

Retail feels more and more like 2nd class/thought even for Blizzard… I hate it. I have years and years of collections I won’t let go.

This is so good

Looks super intense and that it will do a lot in the background. But I will try it out, actually not so much because of all the ideas but the art style, the looks is what draws me in and I want to see how it feels

This looks awesome and works great in the limited time I've tested it. will be a day-one addon for me!

u/SnooStories3343 8d ago

Damn. Can’t wait to see how it works. Compared to the sea of addons this is truly nice and not just making life easier

AI Disclaimer: I developed this addon with help of AI. I routinely check for security and performance issues myself.

Everything in there looks like It's been coded by AI..
Claude developed this addon with the help of my prompts. Should be the disclaimer instead.

You say you routinely check for security and performance issues yourself. Do you though or are you just asking claude to do it?

If you are doing a "AI Disclaimer" the least thing you can do is be honest with it lol.

Disclaimer: VS Code writes programs with the help from my fingers through the keyboard.

Having a disclaimer at all really helps. I pushed a person hard on this point the other day who absolutely refused to attribute their addon to AI even though they openly would say so in comments.

I think people can read between the lines here. I personally am more wary of any wow addons in general at this point from a security standpoint.

As a test and to prove a point to that person: I was able to vibecode some slop, add it to curse, and have hundreds of downloads like it was nothing just to see what would happen. I unlisted the addon, but it was spooky to see how people just trusted something claude whipped up in 40 minutes.

Agreed. This is insane now.

Graphics looks amazing. You probably spent a lot off time into realising this part?

2

u/bluecubedly 5d ago

Probably not, that part is easy too, as long as you use Opus 5.5 or Fable 5.1.

u/ProfessionalPiece403 8d ago

But it does run a local LLM all the time?

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Nope, its all computed by gameplay logs.

2

u/ProfessionalPiece403 8d ago

Then I'll give it a try.

1

u/bluecubedly 5d ago

I don't know why someone down voted you there. I'm actually heavily pro AI usage and even I would be concerned about running local AI in the background of a game because that would require a lot of RAM and VRAM.

Kinda has the same boring texture look as the other ai addons ive been seeing, kinda ugly lol

-2

u/KaedenJayce 8d ago

Did you though?

-7

u/slinkyjeepers 8d ago

Goddamn there’s a flurry of horrible aesthetically looking addons coming out

4

u/captainkaba 8d ago

I spent a lot of time on UI & UX. What irks you?

2

u/slinkyjeepers 8d ago

Sorry to of sounded rude. Honestly, just the overly clean retail look of every single add on with the basic text that has come out. It just doesn’t look classic - personal take, obviously. I don’t like a lot of what they’ve done with the classic UI and retailified it. I can see why people would like it however, and want to apologise for my initial response.

2

u/JackSprat47 8d ago

The thing that irks me personally is you are massively overusing flat textures instead of just rendering a single texture.

Different fonts for some italic things for some reason?

I get the wanting to make it look like a book, but books don't work like that.

Way too much aliasing.

1

u/captainkaba 8d ago

Thanks for the feedback.

Keep in mind, its mimicking a handwritten diary. So cursive fits well IMO. I actually tried implementing a true "bookish" feel, so its helpful that this does not register with you. I'll add options to increase it.

u/mnttu 8d ago

The aesthetics are the good part of this

1

u/khatmar 8d ago

I concur, even though this looks really good feature wise, Id prefer some sort of parchment or make it fit into classic more.

u/SeaOne2723 8d ago

Just the slop coded stuff now... Any add on can be slop coded in 3 minutes with all visuals and ui slop generated too. Sad as hel.
