For those who missed the joke due to the translation: 'ascendant' means 'ÜSTsoy' in Turkish, while 'maximum sentence limit' translates to 'ÜST ceza sınırı' (upper limit). On the other hand, 'descendant' means 'ALTsoy', and 'they give the minimum' implies giving the punishment from the 'ALT sınır' (lower limit).
