Concept / Design What version of windows is this judging by the buttons?

Post image

Is this a custom windows xp theme? If it's windows 7, what version of firefox is used to make the buttons look like that? This was in windows classic UI before and now its this. The cursor uses the old windows xp one.

totally xp with a crappy skin. You can tell by the scroll bar and the fact that this is Firefox 52.9.0 ESR, the last version of Firefox to ever support win xp (yes I'm an xp user how could you tell??)

this isn't 52.9.0esr, it has the firefox chat icon which was removed before firefox 52 was released

You actually cant tell what version of Windows it is from the buttons. The buttons come from the version of the .NET API. I believe these style came out with .NET 3 or 3.5. Not 100% sure. Any version of Windows that supports that version of the API, can have an application that uses those buttons.

If I'm honest ... it looks like Linux with an oldschool GTK theme, but a worse version [image not mine BTW]

I'm implying OP might have posted a non-Windows OS's screenshot, there are many Linux themes out there that look like this

100% xp with the default color changed from blue to silver

No, these buttons are custom. The silver theme has half matte metallic buttons with 4 rounded corners.

Não entendi

Sei disso. Eu me lembro de que alguns apps deixavam os botões com aquela aparência (até mesmo no windows 7 alguns apps mais antigos deixavam os botões assim). Mas me referi ao tema da foto.

Reminds me of Vista Basic

Well its Windows 7 (without AERO enabled...) or Windows XP with internal "aero" in the app built in..

XP, the buttons can't be like that in 7, not even with basic theme or classic theme applied

It looks like Windows XP with a custom theme, or maybe Linux with an old "Windows-like" GTK theme.

It's likely Windows XP with a skin, or Longhorn. That is an old version of Firefox ESR.

What’s up with this market logo that looks way too much like NBC’s?

u/Guilty_Meringue5317 2d ago

With my limited knowledge I'd say xp

u/ArtemITuser 2d ago

Seems as XP theme

u/Katmeow4321 2d ago

Maybe longhorn?

This looks like older version of Firefox in full-screen mode. I remember it had those aero buttons even on Windows 10

looks like newest than xp, but older than win 7 I'm never used the windows vista, but my tip is that :)

u/manu411 Windows XP 1d ago

it can be a lot of things. i am assuming it's just windows 7 with a glitched basic theme title bar. or just windows xp with a custom windows basic theme applied to it like the other person said.

XP with a custom visual style. This reminds me of the good ol' DeviantArt days...

Windows 7 with the DWM Service terminated, the bare bones one that would show up when I'd kill the DWM w the Task Manager
